Can I still beat the game? (fallout 2)

First time out of the vault
Im playing an unpatched fallout 2 v1.0

I only have about 2-3 months left before arroyo dies, Im lvl 8 or 9.Where is the GECK? I've checked vault city, NCR, and vault 15.Is it possible to get the geck and save the village with only a few months left?

Maybe not, depending on circumstances, but it may not be a game-stopping problem.

Can you tell me what to do? My saved is in vault city

I really dont want to start over, I have about 15-20 hours on this save and this is my first time through FO2.

Also, does the killip 1.2 patch get rid of the damn time limit?

Village dying != end of game. The only way to lose is by dying (or having no life and tooling around for 13 years without beating the game).

Are you sure you are not irradiated? You might be dying from radiation poisoning, e.g. from Gecko, rather than the time limit.

Im positive. The cutscene says "The village dies.....(and so on)" and I go back to the title screen.I am not radiated. Also, I only have about 1 year to beat the game before the village dies.Is there any file I can modify to extend the time limit indefinitely without messing up the game?

???

Are you sure this isn't one of the dream messages Hakunin sends you? They are by no means the end of the world...

Look at the date displayed in the Pip Boy. What is it?

I've said it about 5 times, why do you keep asking?

I have already got 3 different messages from hakunin. The game ends on like 2242 august or something like that, a year from when the game starts.Im not radiated and I have full health.I get the death screne and it says the village dies and I have failed and it goes back to the title screen.Remember, I am playing fallout 2 version 1.0

maybe version 1.2, which I assume all of you are playing, removes the time limit?

Because there is no time limit, why don't you get it?

Either you're missing something, or it's a strange bug of which I never heard before.

I don't have Fallout where I'm now, but maybe someone else would like to take a look at your save?

Jeremy, nobody's telling that you are a liar, but the fact is that unlike Fallout 1 there is no enforced time limit, so other factors (bug? poisoning?) might contribute to that.

There definitely were bugs concerning the dream sequences in 1.0. Install the patch and use a savegame converter to see if that does any good.
Else find Vault 13 (any guide out there will do) which will directly prompt the "village dies" sequence once you leave that location. Perhaps that way it might turn out differently.

I'm going to be getting some more blank CDs today so I'll be able to install the 1.2 patch.Im playing fallout 2 on a old pentium II windows 98 so thats why I have to burn the patch to a CD on my other computer, then use the CD on my pentium II.The sad thing is, I already deleted my save :(

I'll just start over so its no big deal

I did that just now, I installed the 1.2 patch after I resolved some difficulties with the program files.I'm hoping that I dont encounter any stupid time limit glitches this time
