Can it be too good to be true though!?

Fallout was a great series...

But what if Interplay had Fallout Tactics as Fallout 3,

what if the whole idea of Fallout 3 was too good to be true?!
NOooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!

*wakes up from nightmare*

Ack.
Okay anyways..

They should make it mega real time first person action online multiplayer shooter.
haha
j/k

All they should do is have a 3d engine for it, so that your characters appearance can be easily customized

like 100% customizable colours (for clothing, red skin is just attrocitious looking as shown by FOT)

and Don't use the Tactics supermutant appearance...

Not to be olitically incorrect but in Tactics the supermutants looked plain retarded...

Graphics should be kept as close to Fallout 1 and 2 as possible..

But the engine needs to be revamped in terms of the fact that a 2d engine can only go so far...

a 3d engine welcomes moders openly, and it makes for more dynamics...

Infact I think if it came with a level editor that would be pretty cool... I mean, have a custom map option in the startup...

Nothing spectacular out of that, but just some ability for the players to customize the game...

After all interplay is supposedly "by gamers. For gamers"
But how can they possibly say BY GAMERS if the only part of their games we can really change is the weapons and critter properties and a few of the text files, but we can't even do that without downloading something not made by interplay..

Interplay - By themselves for their own profit!

But yeah, basically what I'm getting at is that if they do choose to make a Fallout 3, they should improve their reputation by making it a peoples game.. not a game for themselves...

Like between Fallout 1 and 2, they changed almost nothing, a few improvements on the engine, and many bugs added that made the game unplayable...

I think they should give us a new engine that is just the same to use, but one that offers more to the gamer, such as customization, 3d graphics, and better visual effects...

Rather than little orange clouds about a foot off the ground to represent explosions even if you nail someone in the chest with a rocket.

And another thing for Fallout 3

They should fire the staff that did Fallout Tactics.

I think they already did

Butte, I agree. LEVEL EDITORS!!

RE: I think they already did

well actually i have faith in interplay, and i trust them to create another unforgettable post-nucluar rpg! (as long as it has an acceptable storyline and as long as it's gonna work on a P3 600mhz 128mb with tnt 2 pro 3d-card, i won't complain :)

RE: I think they already did

Just as long as Blackisle do it we'll be just fine. They're ok. Man i hate those guys at 14 east. They give fallout a bad name. Fire the lot o' them and damn their souls to the Abyss (Too much torment)

What if Fallout 3 is JUST a level maker. Really complex but easy to use. Along with a small game with it. All those people with diffrent story ideas for fallout can make the games themselves and then Blackisle can get rich off of selling them and giving some money to the makers.

And they can do exactly the same with Planescape Torment as well

RE: I think they already did

I totaly agree on the combat thing. I do not want to start a war here but as i read a lot of things about this CTB and even real time (even from some of the developers) i can not help but react. Each game has some sort of combat system (when combat is involved anyway). Some are real time, some are TB. What i want to say is that TB is the Fallout combat system and i personally would not like to see it leave the Fallout games. I don't think that they should implement the CTB or a real time aspect in combat. I just hope that Interplay/BIS doesn't give in to the demand of thrill seaking, shoot everything you see people. But the way things are going..........

Sadly, I agree. The way Ubercattle Urquart wants to make it 3d, all sorts of other features, bow to trends, etc. makes me think he's less inclined to keep the integrity of the game and keep the game strong, but put a focus on what every other game is doing and bow to trends and flashy bullshit. When Fallout cam out, it wasn't full of the special-effects that you saw in a lot of games. Hell, when Fallout 2 came out, it did EXTREMELY well, for it's dated graphics and such. Problem is, Feargus doesn't have a single clue as to what made Fallout so great, and apparently neither does anyone else with reigns there at Interplay.

Which is a damn shame, really.

Hhmmm.

I still think Interplay owes us Fallout 3 to be good though..

as an apology for two things..

#1. Fallout 2, the Monty Python parody/1990s cult drug movie style game that didn't deserve the name fallout.

and
#2. Fallout Tactics:....don't even get me started on it..

Yay, I found a hummer, lets park it in the bunker now since you can't do anything else with it!

Just like how many people would buy games like Chrono Trigger and FF6 if Square or some other company created them again. They were classic well-built games that, while not having the greatest graphics, had a good story and good gameplay.
