Can`t join the Bishops

I have a slight problem as I want to join the Bishop family this time. My karma level is at 550 (shield of hope) and I`m a recent prizefighter. I accepted briefcase delivery quest from Thomas Moore in Vault City. When I enter to Bishops chamber, he accepts a briefcase from me and then he says something like like: "OK, but Moore says you cant be trusted farther that a snake can shit, you entered wrong room tribal. I have only three answer options, each one of them ends with fight.
Is there any trick I can do to convince Bishop to offer me a job ? Or I`m too recognizable do-gooder for Bishop, maybe ? Starting a new game just to join the Bishops isn`t quite tempting for me :/
My game is 1.02 US version.

If you like you can use the inventory editor (found in the files section) to exchange the Moore's Briefcase in your inventory to the other, safe one. Otherwise you can't join the Bishops at this point.

From The Nearly Ultimate Fallout 2 Guide:

Thomas Moore stands in the inner city preaching. If you play along, and providing Bishop is not dead, Moore will give you a briefcase to deliver to New Reno (which shows up on the map). If you happen to piss him off in conversation, you can always mollify him again unless you're a Slaver. Just don't ask him for payment or threaten to turn him in, or he'll put a note in the briefcase telling Bishop to kill you on arrival... which is bad. You get 500 xp and $250 for a successful delivery. Note that you must take this quest if you want to do missions for Bishop later.
