can we sprint?

It may seem like a small thing, but sprinting would be a interesting thing, specially if it influenced VATS regen. It would certainly make melee foes much more dangerous. If the AI is smart enough to seek cover, then shootouts would also get interesting.

especially now that real time combat is improving

It has been done with either the Fallout Overhaul mod or Wasteland Wanderers mod.

To be honest, it works like a charm, but it drains AP. I prefer it over the Vats system.

IMHO it would be a great addition to NV.

Aha! A new perk that could be added would add a "charge!" faction where a melee weapon would be equipped and would run and knock over the target, leaving the target vulnerable.

No. :/

I agree about much faster melee enemies (that are actually dangerous instead of an annoying meat shield like talon mercs with batons).

But no... no sprinting...

Running away from radscorpions is easy enough as it is.

Sprinting would be useful in tight situations, but frankly, I'd rather see it only attached to melee weapons as a 'charge' option; high enough melee skill, you can get a perk that lets you run faster for a short bit if you hold the right trigger down. Hitting an enemy as you come out of the sprint would do extra damage as well, giving some value outside of just moving.

I just hope they do something similar to what they done in Fallout 2.

Hard to get skill points but after you finish the main quest you get the hintbook and become a walking tank to pwn everything and everyone just because you can.

Hopefully there won't be a level cap, but, it will be so that you're not tripping over EXP.

But the hintbook (Don't you wish you had this at the beginning of the game?) would be a nice throwback Easter Egg.

It was actually an amazing easter egg.

Nobody would think about talking with [spoiler:89271687c1]Father Tully[/spoiler:89271687c1] After the end of the game. XD

"U ish teh Heroz!!1"

Gotta love that guy, hope we see his grandson somewhere in New Vegas...

Actually, instead of sprint, how about when you put your weapon away there's a more noticeable movement speed? They say that all the time in the loading tips, but I barely ever notice going faster.
