Can't enter Chinatown

Whenever I try to enter Chinatown from any location (world map, Hubologist's Base, etc.), Fallout 2 locks up. I've just butchered the Bishop family, gotten Marcus and let the ghoul keep the refined uranium ore. In addition to Marcus, I have three other partners. Version is 1.02 UK. Installation is Humongeous.

If you've been there before, unloading items, it could be the "too many items" bug (do a search, you'll find several threads). If not, the usual guess is a corrupt cd (in which case you should try a manual install to see what happens).

Seems that's what happened ot me. I distrubuted some of my items in various lockers, grabbed a non-corrupt version of SFCHINA.SAV from an ealier save, and it was normal. Thanks.
