Can't exit random encounter :(

After spending hours touring the world map and looking for the pipboy, suddenly I found the grim brothers, but all my kits where on the apc. so i got out , took med kits, returned to the place, healed the wounded brother and then i couldn't leave. and unfortunately, my previous save was before i left the bunker and started the tour. any tips?
there is a trainer for version 1.13 that allows exiting to the world map. So I reinstalled the game to get version 1.13, but of course the savegame from the latest patch didn't work.

Any other suggestion than starting the whole world tour again? (and trying to be more careful next time?)
 
Have the Grim brothers left the map yet? If not wait for them to leave and then try leaving, if they have then you'll have to go back to a previous save.

Special encounters appear in the same place unlike the RPG's, so when you load your old save game you can head straight for the Grimm Brothers.

Never save in a Random or Special encounter.
 
I've heard that the places the random (how are they random now) encounters take place are all preselected, but which encounter you get is random. Is there a map of were they are ?
 
i think my save is b4 they left., but i once tried to wait for them and it didn't help.

as for PsychoSniper's question, i never saw a map of them, but the faq in gamefaqs has a listing of squares with special encounters
 
I have the same problem. Mine is even bigger since my closest save is before a mission I've already completed..

Use more save slots next time.

Since you found this thread it's obvious that you have already search, but please continue; there are more recent threads on this subject.
 
I found myself an encounter in the map-where the sixth sence is suppose to be in the map that i downloaded from here- which it has no discription..
The first time i enter i can get out the second time i cant...

Same with the grim brothers and the pipboy encounter -so far-..

Do you mean by that when you return to the Brother's Grimm and PIP Boy encounters you can't get out or you just can't leave the first time?
 
It was optimazed with the booster before and it had that quick key list problem..So I reinstall to solve that problem (fixed now)..

Note that the problem occoured when it was pathced with the booster before the new installation..

Does it matter if is a saved game from that previous installation ??
 
The problem has nothing to do with the booster, a lot of people don't use the booster and still get stuck. It's more likely that the error is caused by the way the special encounter exits are set up.

Curious when you applied the booster did you re-apply the 1.27 patch afterwards? If not a lot of the patched files would of been overwritten by the unpatched versions that the booster unpacks. Negating most of the patch's fixes.

Oh and one more thing Don't Double Post!! You obviously know how to use the edit button so you've got no excuse.

I patch it with 1.27 and the I loaded my saved file..Is that matters ?
 
Heh. Me and this guy share positions, it would appear. I'm stuck as well, second entry to the Grim Brothers scene, just after finishing off the Great Bend at a bit too low a level for my liking.

Is there *really* no way of fixing it? I've scoured the net looking for trainers that'll allow me to cheat-teleport to specific locations (so that I can bounce back to the Great Bend or head out to Bunker Delta). I'm stumped for ideas... I guess I just don't like to have to scroll in my savegame menu.

<sigh>
 
Hm. Alright. I'll poke around some more, then, if all else fails, just do the mission over again. (Even though it took four-five hours)
 
Cannot leave special encounter.

Yes I've searched and I've seen people say it's impossible howevere I doubt it is. Surely leaving the map and returning to the world map is merely a simple trigger sent when all of your squad are in the extraction zone.

Is there anyway of emulating this or using a savegame editor/trainer/hack to return to the world map or even to another location?

I only have the one save because I play with Tough Guy on and now I'm stuck at the Brothers Grimm on my way to the Great Bend.
 
I've never used them, but reading the file description try this one here.

Otherwise are you really going to loose that much if you reload from the bunker? FOT is bugged and crashes a lot, especially in toughguy, save often whenever you return to a bunker and there's no reason to just use one save slot.
