Can't get the "Beserker" title in FO2

I remember being able to easily get the Beserker title with a former evil character I played through with, but this time I am using Killaps unofficial patch and Restoration Project and was wondering if that had anything to do with it.

I can't for the life of me seem to get Berserker. I have done several evil quests and evil actions, and killed as many good/neutral people as possible in random encounters, and I am a childkiller also. My karma is around -1,500 right now (demon spawn).

Can someone explain to me exactly how this works? Does the number of bad people you kill affect this, so that it's like a scale of how many good vs how many evil NPCs you kill?

Or is it just the opposite of Champion and it has nothing to do with a counter of how many good vs bad people you kill?

Should I always choose to encounter bounty hunters? I can handle them, and I am all by my lonesome.
