Can't load savegames.

First time out of the vault
I transferred my my save files via email from my Windows Vista laptop to my old Windows XP desktop and moved the files to the appropriate folder in the Fallout 2 directory, but when I try to load the save files ingame, I get an error message.

Unfortunately, I can't read the error message since the entire screen (save for the taskbar) is black and alt-tabbing does not work. Thus, I have no idea what the error window says.

I thought I might have not been able to load my save games because of Killap's patch, so I installed that on my Windows XP Fallout 2 install and tried it again to no luck.

Tried just the same thing, also no dice. Not really sure why they would be corrupted or unworkable from computer to computer but it did not work. Was using same patches and everything. Different computer running same OS (XP).

EDIT: My bad.

Did you know that if you move a SAVEGAME folder into the main directory of Fallout 2 installation that it will find those saves in-game, but that they won't work?

How weird. Then I moved them to the right folder and it worked again, thank God. I had a level 51 character I was having fun with. (No, most quests aren't done, actually. Grinding enemies into powder in random encounters.)
