I think there should be more traits, instead of replacing others, there could be a scroll bar to see the others. What do you think of:

1) Psychotic -- More AG, less IN

2) Lucky Bastard -- More LK, but critical hits do more damage

3) Soldier -- All combat skills, traps, repair, doctor, first aid and outdoorsman are boosted, but Science, gambling, barter and speech are dropped, and critical failures will be centred on weapons more than missing turns,

4) Sport Hunter -- When you kill wildlife, you can take "trophies" from them (ie. gecko pelts, radscorpion limbs, stuff like that) but all wildlife will attack you on sight.

5) Drug Dealer -- Better prices for chems, but negative karma on start.

that's all I can think of now. Got any others?
 
What about short temper. the charachter when combat starts gains strength put loses some percepcion , also gets koked down in combat less often also gains fast sho . another thing during conversation could get into figts with greater ease psycotic could contain kamikazi (the idear is similar)

Also what about gost gain gain higher amour class
better sneaking , stealing but worse (your idear here )
 
how about over aggressive: "People don't like you because you are one hell of an asshole, but you do more damage when you get the adrenaline pumping."
 
id like some non combat traits/or maybe perks such as:

Master of Sarcasm: you may in certain situations use your sharp wit to get more NPC responses. so its like +2 to speech intelligence, and or + %25 to speech.

Fat Ass: your ass is unussually large and that means -2 charisma, but you use all that extra muscle and fat to your advantage, +%40 to unarmed
+3 to melee damage

Compulsive liar: you lie lie lie lie. and you can use this to increase the initial reaction for NPC's by %40. But you may get cuaght in this web of lies so -1 intelligence of speech.

Musician: You know how to manipulate beats and rythms. this can increase your charisma +2 and your intelligence +1. but since you spent a lot more time working on music all your combat stats are -%20

Gay: you are gay and becuase of this your charisma is raised +2(stylish dressing) and your talking ability with the oppisite sex is raised. But you may not last long in non accepting towns. - %20 reaction in small towns.

Late bloomer:
Your initial stats are lowered by %25 but you gain +5 skill points a level and you recieve 2 perks every 6 levels(including a perk every 3 levels)

Prodigy:
You automatically get %200 in any two skills but you suffer by losing %25 from each skills, and you get -5 skill points for every level

Mentor:
You can teach any of your npc's the skills and perks you have to increase their stats.(example: you teach vic how to shoot better, and raise his small guns ability to 10% below yours)

Pimp:
Besides the charisma boost of +1 you can pimp any one of your npc's provided you have higher strength and higher speech(so you can physically make them whore or talk them into it)

Windowlicker:
Women want you and men want to be you. You have a positive reaction for any conversation, plus you can have 1 more npc.

Pact with the devil:
you sold your soul so you could get +2 in every SPECIAL catagory but after level 24 El Diablo, metastophalies, what have you, will come back at some time and take away all those stats.(if you have high enough speech and intelligence you can trick the devil into lettign you keep those stats)

stoner:
although you fried your brain from drugs and you lost 1 intelligence you seem to have become more funny and gained 1 charisma(based off of my friend tristan)

crazy eyes: you got those eyes that are super creepy(think charles manson). You can use these eyes to your advantage to scare or to hjave people help you.

Annoying Prick: YOu suffer from an accute case of Meesa Jar Jar Binks syndrome. People dont like you and dont want to like you. but look on the plus side you arent attacked by geckos.

ADD:
Sure youre smart but you cant focus. you get one extra tag skill but you lose %5 in every stat.

Cow Humper:
you hump cows and you got the grin to prove it. people try to avoid you. nuff said.

I played only one game where i tagged a combat skill and it was okay. i like being a super intelligent guy that had really good charisma. it was more fun for me that way.

How about...

Loner: By some twist of fate no one seems to want to go anywhere with you. But that's ok because you prefer to be alone anyhow. You've had more time to improve your skills by yourself, so each from the start is +15! But no NPC will join you.

Nympho: When offered sex - Hell, you just can't refuse. No matter how unappealing they are. But all this extra practice has made you a expert at pleasing both sexes in bed.(or where ever else.)

Big Ego: Because you carry yourself so well in a conversation due to over-confidence, you get a +2 INT when in an indepth conversation. However, you easily tick people off due to your ego. An NPC's positive reaction is lowered and you just may find yourself in a fight more easily.

So sue me, I got bored..

What about CYBERNETIC, nukes you charisma and speech(Arnie),and your action points, but gives +10 DR to all, amd +25% small guns when using a sawn off shotgun!!.
