Companion levels.

First time out of the vault
Hi all,

I finished one more time fallout 2, but this time by installing Megamod 1.34 on it. The experience was a lot different.
I think, for a fighter the game is much more easy, since you encounter more ennemies during travel and can loot some of their armors, it becomes easier to get money and ammos.

Anyway, I make a kinda charismatic char, then I recruit some newbies  (sulik, vic, cassidy...) And I tried to equip them well.
From my hold games I never put any power armors on them, this time I even get them gauss rifles, pistols, plasma rifles... I stuffed them very well.
But I figured out that even by paying attention to em, levelling up em, and giving em good stuff, they were not... a big deal.
I'm not sure if individually they're of any trouble for an enclave trooper (maybe Klint or Marcus wearing his metal armor).

I think that there is a way to make fallowers usefull from the beginning till the end without empower them: making some new levels.
That way they are not cheated and they become stronger with the game difficulty growing.

Sulik can gets 10 levels, same for Vic ? (not sure), but Cassidy can only get 6 levels, Lenny only 4...
Maybe we could make all of them can get 10 levels ?

I'm not sure that I got the necessary skills to do those modifications so I suggest to any modder this idea, and I hope, maybe a day, it will be part of megamod.

:wtf: They are not supposed to be able to kick any enemy's ass in the game, they are just the player's "backup". Klint in the MM is a cheat character and IMO is awful. :lalala:

And it will be even much more easy and unbalancing with:

:seriouslyno:

Here's list of vanilla game NPCs and number of levelups they have on vanilla:
Myron: 4
Marcus: 5
Cassidy: 4
Sulik: 5
Lenny: 3
Robodog: 4
Goris: 5
Vic: 5
Skynet (Brain Bot, best brain): 5
Dogmeat: 5
K-9: 4

I doubt the Megamod changed this. By the way, I usually play on Easy/Whimpy settings and, as far as I remember, my NPCs were much stronger than the enclave soldiers. Though nobody in my party had a worse armor than Combat Armor.

And if you think the game is too easy, try playing on Hard, Rough, without saving (or with a very limited number of saves) or just applying some of those.

I like Klint.
