Destroyer

First time out of the vault
Setting - The year is 1948. Germany, Japan/China, and Italy rule the world. The entire Asian continent from the eastern coast to the Caspian sea, all of South America, and most of North America (as far north as the city of Inuvik in Northern Canada) is controlled by the Japanese and Chinese Alliance. The Germans control Russia as far east as the Verkhoyansk mountain range, and all of Europe, excluding Italy, Switzerland, and northern Scotland. Italy itself controls all of Africa and the middle east.

The Allies control Northern Scotland, the Heberdies, Orkneys, and all of the islands off the north coast of Asia. Allied HQ is in Alert, on Ellesmere Island, one of the islands of the north coast of Canada. The Japanese and American/Canadian front streches from Anchorage, to Dawson, to Inuvik. The American/Canadian combined Navy is managing to hold off the constant invasion attempts into the Yukon Isles. The British are preparing to evac Scotland, and transport them to the Artic, where they will subsequently be transported to Greenland.

There was no Manhatten project. There is no atomic bomb. There are, however, V12's. They are capable of firing on targets within foot accuracy that are 300 miles away. The Allies have precious few of these, mostly ones captured from transport ships on their way from Ireland to Nova Scotia. The Germans and Italians, however, mass produce them, and have huges fields containing them. One of the largest of these fields is in Echo Bay, from which they reek havoc on the Yukon Isles.

Plot - The role play starts when, after being chosen for a Spec. Ops parachute mission into deep enemy territory, the soldiers hit the ground, about 40 miles away from Echo Bay, a V12 launching site for the Japan/China alliance. The mission is to find out what all the radio traffic going between J/C, Kraut, and Italian heads is all about. The most that the allies have decifered is "Svalbard Projekt", substitute the k for a c and you have your translation. "Baia Di Eco" is often used as well. While the British Royal Marines investigate the former, the squads job is to find out what the connection is with Echo Bay. The squad starts making their way towards the military base. Take it from there.

Rules.

1. Women charries will be allowed, because of the shotage of men to draft, they have resorted to letting willing women join the army.
2. I will reveal the connection as the Role Play progresses, so dont try and take it off in a new direction.
3. No turning on your fellow soldiers. This includes mutiny.
4. You may curse, but only in context.
5. No modding or gods, we're all regular guys and gals.
6. I reserve the right to ban people as I see fit.

Guns:

Garand - Standard issue rifle. Caliber: .30-06 Capacity: 8 rds Accuracy: Good
Semiautomatic

M1 Carbine - Standard parachute rifle. Caliber: .30 Capacity: 15 rds Accuracy: Good

Everyone is armed, at the beginning, with five Frag Grenades. You may pick up 1 grenade from each corpse, but you can cary a max of 8. Use them wisely.

You may pick up an enemy weapon, but only if you substitute it for your own. Snipers are not allowed to do this, but have unlimited ammo. Regular soldiers have no more than 30 magazines of ammo. Once you use these up, you must substitute your weapon. Eveyone (but the snipers) should have substitute their weapons by the end of this.

Ranks:

Private
Private First Class (or Lance Corp. for the Brits)
Corporal
Sergeant
Staff Sergeant - but we wont use him, since they hardly ever go into battle.
Master Sergeant (Sergeant-Major)

If your wondering why I'm giving you British ranks as well, its because you may be British. The army has long mashed together if no particular order or distinction of nationality.

There will be one Master Sergeant, no more. He will be the leader. He will be me. Sorry. I would let someone else do it, but I need to be able to control the group.

There will also be:
2 Sergeants
3 Corporals

So we need 5 other people minimum. I dont care about the rest. Also, one person must volunteer to be a radioman, and one of the corporals must be a sniper, along with a private. That's all. Heres an example of the form.

Name: Jack Towers
Age: 28
Gender: Male
From: Princeton, New Jersey
Rank: Master Sergeant
Gun: Garand
Description: Green eyes, tall, short black hair, agile build.
Personality: Quietly observant. The type of person who looks like he's going to do one thing, and does the opposite. Decieving eyes, and has the ability to make people fear him without saying a word. In combat, however, he becomes very loud and makes decisions quickly and well.
Extra Info: Is known for his smoldering, quiet temper. It is rumored that he once, while serving in Scotland, shot 7 P.O.W.s just because, he said later, his "Garand needed to be unloaded".

Now. Let the games begin.

Name: Arthur Pryce (Nickname: Art)
Age: 23
Gender: Male
From: Southampton, England
Rank: Corporal
Gun: Sten Mk II
Description: Brown eyes, tall, short black hair, bulky build.
Personality: Art is a joker, he always have a sarcastic commentary ready at the right time to rise the group morale, his imitation of Churchill is pretty good by the way. He fits well in any group and most of his buddies like him. Art is also a good shot, and very good with automatic weapons. He is also very bright.
Extra Info: He lost his girlfriend when the place where she lived was bombed, so he has some accumulated hate for his enemies, this shows while in battle.

I have no problem in being the radio operator if no one else wants to.

Edited: changed the sten gun

Is it possible to play an ex-OSS (Office of Special Services) specialist? For example, an agent attached to a squad with a background in demolitions, languages, improvised weapons and the like?

Ill play him as either Cpl or Sgt...just need a day to work ont he profile. Dont have time right now.

Name: Julian Verl
Age: 27
Gender: Male
From: Melbourne, Australia
Rank: Corporal
Gun: Springfield
Description: Black hair, grey eyes, short, thin.
Personality: Most snipers are known to be solitary, quiet people. Jules is no exception, atleast, on the quiet part. Above average intelligence, proffesional with his shooting. He doesn't speak much - mostly because he only feels it necessary to talk when he has something to contribute. Jules is very graceful, patient, and gentle which is what makes him a good marksman. He's good at blending into the terrain.
Extra info: Challenges himself too often. He'll make games for himself to keep patient which is why he is known to have a better death per bullet count than most other people.

Hope this gets approved.

James "Jimmy" Joyce

Age: 27
Gender: Male
From: Portsmouth, NH
Rank: Sergeant
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Brown
Size: Average (5'9")
Weapon: Thompson

A rather introspective young man with a prediliction for languages and highly intelligent. A former officer in OSS who resigned his commission in order to remain on the battlefield and avoid commanding others. He then re-enlisted back into special operations work with his contacts in OSS. Fluent in Russian, French, and German with several dialects, he has spent time with various underground movements in Fortress Europe. Expert in explosives, guerilla organization, and improvised weaponry. Having been recalled to bolster the flagging war effort back up north, he was pulled from downtime in Northern Scotland to support a new "classified" mission to Echo Bay....

Jimmy is usually frighteningly focused on the mission at hand, though when with his mates he is quite easy going and somewhat the card shark, always ready with a quick wit and quick trigger.

Still need 1 Corporal and 1 Sergeant.....and a radioman....Yeah, if no one's going to be the latter, then you can do it, Gonzales

Give it some time. I am sure they will come... I hope.
It is just roleplaying has been slow lastly.

**Saunters in wearing full 101st paratrooper outfit with a Thompson under his arm**

Well I am back after a shootout with some viruses at the Windows/system32 folder corral and a frustrated nuclear formatting so I guess I will play seeing as my other RP guy is dead now.

Name- Ricardo Vasquez
age-31
gender-Male
birthplace-Chino,California
Rank-P.F.C.
eyes-Brown
hair-Black (slicked back)
size- Short (5'3")
Weapon- M1 carbine (folding stock)

Ricky is a jumpy, short, mexican-american, spaz. Most people get the impression he has just finished a gallon of coffee upon seeing him, and he is as greasy as they come. Ricardo is a skilled knife fighter and carries a 9 inch switchblade in his sleeve in a spring clip. Although a decent shot in close Ricardo is not a sniper and geared more towards urban warfare. Prefering weapons that are relatively short or rapidfiring he uses his M1 often with the stock folded so he can snap shot, that is assuming he isn't using his .45 instead while he lets the rifle hang uselessly from his shoulder. On a side note you wouldn't want to sneak up on Ricky and lay a hand on his shoulder. chances are you could get stabbed or shot.

Howsat guys?

Weapon- M1 carbine (folding stock)

If you guys want to use official nomenclature it is called M1A1 Carbine, not unlike his cousin called just M1 Carbine.

It looks like my char and yours are not going to get along too fine, Pyro. Since my character would likely tap you in the shoulder to make a comment or just chat (unless a total silence is required for tactical purposes only).
