Continued Problems with a Pentium 4

First time out of the vault
First, Silencer, thanks for the prompt reply to the last topic, and I apologize for essentially repeating it.
I had previously read the thread you suggested, but it didn't solve the problem. I've tried CPUkill to no avail and have also downloaded the encounterbooster mod. Maybe its simply my installation of the encounterbooster patch, but it didn't work at all. I can still jaunt from San Fran back to Arroyo without a single random encounter. If it helps, the game is already patched to the 1.05 version. Has anyone else had this problem with Encounterbooster?

Failure to search and failure to post in the right forum, twice. Moving this and vatting the previous thread.

No problem :)

I don't know if you can use the Encounter Booster with the 1.05 patch. What version do you use, the .DAT file or the dispersed distibution?

Anyway, you can try to unpack the 1.05 patch - you can use the DAT Explorer tool you can find in the Files section here - into your Fallout2/data directory, then rename or delete the PATCH000.DAT file, and install the files from the encounter booster (unpack it if it's a DAT file in the same manner), overwriting any files from the patch. That way you'll make sure the encounter files are in place and are not overriden with any files in the DAT.

If it still doesn't work, maybe you'll need to twaek the values in the Booster some more, search the forum for a thread on Encounter Booster.

Wasnt there that fallout2.exe hacking tool that woudl elt you set the high resolution. I'm sure it had a fix for the encounters in it too
