Cool fan concept animation shows off Power Armor and the Fat Man in a “remake” of the classic engine

Found this by chance on Reddit of all places which I hate to admit, but I thought it was neat. The whole channel seems to host this type of animation for Fallout “remakes”, check it out if you want.

While it does look cool, the classic games never had a Mini Nuke Launcher, so I don't understand why a remake would have one either.

It's just a concept animation and the artist probably just wanted to make the Fat Man for fun, nothing revisionist or deep to it's inclusion. I will say the Fat Man is probably my favorite new weapon Bethesda introduced to the franchise tbh.

The Power Armor has that oversized Fallout 4 style that I hate, it’s so bulky it makes you look like a gorilla.
I completely agree with the Power Armor in Fallout 4 looking silly like a gorilla, but as for the bulkiness I actually love it. I think it's the movement animations that ruin the look of it for FO4/76. I combined two mods for FNV for Power Armor that I think makes it look much better animation-wise than the newer games, here's some GIFs I made just now from my modded playthrough for demonstration (and for demonstration purposes I toggled God Mode/Easy Mode on):

Personally I think the Power Armor looks miles better when not stanced up like an oaf or gorilla. I get they were going for the "Human Tank" look, but Fallout 1 and 2 showed perfectly you can have bulky Power Armor and walk more imposing and dominant than like Quasimodo.

I hate the mini nuke weapon with a passion.
In classic Fallout games nukes were serious topics, they had destroyed the world and were treated with the respect they deserve. Then Bethesda made nukes in FO3 to be like "LOL NUKE ALL THE ENEMIES LMAO", it was more aggravated by the fact of being able to destroy Megaton by detonating an Atomic Bomb for a handful of caps "LOL NUCLEAR EXPLOSION IS COOL AND SO EVIL ROFL!".

Ehhh I disagree with that when it comes to the Fat Man weapon. I do agree Bethesda made a joke of the actual nuclear ICBMs and the damage they cause in the Fallout series by not taking the overall world seriously like with Megaton’s quest. A more “ROFL so quirky” weapon would be the Rock-It-Launcher/Junk Jet which I do hate for that exact reason.

The Fat Man is more believable of a Pre-War weapon to me and doesn’t bother me much. Whether Bethesda made the weapon as a joke or not, it’s not that much of a stretch for me to believe it could be an actual weapon used in the Resource Wars. It’s basically just portable artillery. Use it to smash through bunkers or blast a cluster of soldiers apart, whatever. We’ve had worse weapons with worse side effects made in our history than the Fat Man, I don’t think the Fat Man is too silly or far out of a believable weapon.

Description on one of the videos mentions homemade engine and Fallout Classic Project that would remake Fallout 1&2 - does anyone know more about that?
Textures look like some kind of AI upscale, not very clean, but who knows.

This video has some gameplay

For the most part I agree. When I say “bulkiness” I am mostly referring to the fact that Fallout 4 power armor is so big that it works more like a mech than a suit of powered armor, with arms so big that the user must use controls to manipulate robotic hands rather than use their own. Power armor always gave you a height boost, but I’m pretty sure it never made your arms longer. Hard to tell from the 2-D isometric perspective though.

Too much exposed joints in the newest iteration.

Imagine you are wielding gauss rifle, it doesn't require much expertise to see which parts you can aim for in the right armor. For maximum damage.

What's silliest is the NV air-duct right over the spine.
That is supposed to be armored back plating with a radiation symbol painted on it; not a mechanical fan.
