We all have probably heard of 'The Road' given its PA nature. I read 'The Road' and enjoyed it very much. Very sad - but still great.
About 2 years ago I heard that the Coen Brothers were working on a movie based on a Cormac McCarthy book - so I decided to pick it up and give it a try. I enjoyed it even more than 'The Road'. However - McCarthy's style is unique and takes some time to get used to. I always thought I would come back and try another McCarthy book some time down the road (down the road because I have a lot of other books on the list that i want to get to).
But a couple weeks ago my friend told me that Blood Meridian was great. He got me a copy of it for my housewarming party. I'm 100 pages in and WOW. Truely amazing. I think its a combination of the great story, the incredible violence, and just the fact that I've gotten used to McCarthy's style enough to truely appreciate it. Blood Meridian is shaping up to be one of my favorite books of all time.
So I was wondering - you guys ever read McCarthy besides 'The Road'? Any recomendations? I was thinking of starting 'All the Pretty Horses' next and see what his "border trilogy" is all about.
