Cowardly assassin [help!]

I have an interesting problem. I am working my way through the game for the first time. I have made it to Junktown and went to talk to Killian. After the conversation the assasin shows up, but he just stands there... He doesn't do anything and I can't get him to actually attack Killian.

He actually did when I first got to that spot, but one of Killian's guards shot me by mistake and they all turned on me. I reloaded the game from my previous spot (at the Junktown gate) and now the assasin will not attack.

Any help out there?

Hmm...I can't recall if he actually has to attack Killian or not. Try killing him where he stands, as that might just do it.
Else, attack him, then place yourself behind Killian and wait until he gets shot instead of you.

That actually worked! I just walked up and slugged the guy then retreated behind Killian. The assassin took a couple of shots at Ian, but he put him down. Now Killian wants me to go wiretap Gizmo.
