I keep getting a crash when I try to travel by elevator from level 4 to level 3 of the Glow. This is after turning on the power, getting all the weapons etc. It also happens if I travel from level 6 to level 3. Anyone know what could be going wrong. I'm patched up to 1.3.4.

I think my girlfriend had a similar problem when she played through Fallout 1. If I remember correctly, it turned out to be the too many item bug. So try offloading some items.

I tried removing all the items from my inventory, and most of the items from my two NPC Ian, and Tycho, but it's still crashing whenever I try to go up to level 3, from level 4. Something about memory not being able to be read. Is there any way to teleport myself out of the Glow, or to another map. Any console commands? Is there even a console in Fallout 1? This really sucks because I am not stuck in the glow with no way to get out.

Come on folks, does anyone atleast know why this happens? It seems its basically the same issue as the Cathedral level 3 loading bug if that helps.
Was it ever established what caused that? Was it the 'carrying too many items bug' and if so do you simpily not carry as much to avoid it in future? I know dropping everything and trying to use the level 4 elevator doesn't make any difference presumably because the savegame is already corrupted or something? So would loading an old savegame and dropping everything before entering the glow solve the problem?
Anyone have any insights?
