Critical Immunity (EDITED - Crouched and Prone, selfcrits)

I realised what the problem is now. When chars are crouched or prone they will ALWAYS crit themself apprently, if they damage themselves somehow.

Very annoying. Guess it breaks my idea entirely, as there propably isnt anyway to change this.

Im having a hard time making my characters ENTIRELY immune to a certain kind of damage, but it seems there will always be some critical hits that go through ayway, even though the character has 0 critical strike chance and resist/threshold at stupid high numbers.

This is mostly with area of effect attacks that can hurt the player itself, like a "pyro" type char that has fire resistant armor on and carries a flamethrower. When targets are close up or the char is in a tight space, he will take critical hits from his own attacks very often. , with the combat log message stating - "Critically hit himself, bypassing defenses, scored wicked hit" etc.

Anyone got an idea how to augment/change this?
 
Hmm odd, have you tried setting the critical chance of the weapon to negative numbers? Or changing the range to 'only long', that will stop them using the weapon at suicidal ranges.
