cursor blurs game

Bachus

First time out of the vault
I installed FT today meaning to finally finish the game after a loooong time and I encountered a problem with the graphics. Everything under the cursor is blurred instantly until that patricular screen area is refreshed. Is a little better with cursor set to software, but the problem persists. Obviously this makes the game unplayable.

Here's a screenshot of the main menu after moving the cursor around a little bit:

Also the gameplay is choppy (my old laptop with a radeon 7000 plays *much* faster), but that's less important to me.

Any hints would be appreciated.

Specs:
Fallout Tactics @ 1.27 and no mods
Win2k with latest patches
DX 9.0c
Sempron 2.8, heavily overclocked
GF 7800 GT, also heavily overclocked, forceware 91.28
1gb ram
nforce 4 chipset MB (an Asus)

Ive gotten that bug before a couple months ago, it made the game unplayable and so I just quit playing it for awhile... I also overclock my video card

I just reinstalled my fallout tacics again and it works fine for now... still have my video card overclocked though. The only thing that is different is that I changed my operating system and maybe some update drivers.

Blurry Cursor Bug

Heya. I have bin searching for days and cant seam to find a way to fix this one. I know there has bin an other post like this one, but it didnt help any.

The problom is that the cursor blurs everything its hovering over, in hardware mode. In software mode it makes a blurry trail instead of just the tile under the cursor. This makes the game kinda hard to play when you need to see what you are pointing at and its also plain annoying to look at.

Here is the screenshots of the problom

Hardware:

I have a kick ass pc with up to date drivers and the game is also up to date. I have no mods installed and have tryed to run dxdiag with no luck finding anything there.

Thanks in advance.
Lasota.

Okay i read the stickey and as i wrote, this thread diddent help me correct the curser problom. If you guys know anything or if i missed something, please post a link or refer to where it was posted.

Again thanks in advance.
Lasota.

Sigh.

Why is it so hard for people to read the stickies?

The following must be done if you want to avoid being beaten like a puppy:

1. If it's crashing related or some other critical problem like that, post comp specs, OS, DirectX version, etc.
2. If you don't post enough relevent information, prepare to be ridiculed....
Kick ass pc doesn't really help if you want people to solve your technical problems for you!

Im verry sorry mate. Here goes.

Intel Core 2 cpu
6600 @ 2.40GHz x2 (Service Pack 2)

3GB ddr2 Ram

GeForce 7950 GX2 (93.81 XP driver)

Hope this helped

Edit: Well problom solved. I think the only way to fix this is to get an other driver for your grafic card.

To you who dont know any other relyable scources then the Nvidia or Radeon main sites. Go to http://www.guru3d.com/ Here you can get both custom, original and modifyed drivers for both Radeon and Nvidia. (If you need any help the use thair forum. Its great for support)

New user, please give me a break. What/where are the "stickies". Would someone mind posting a link to the other thread that adjusts this issue?

Thank you all

The thread stuck at the top of the forum, clearly marked sticky for your convenience. Do you really need a link to it?

But the important part has already been quoted in this forum. If you have a technical problem, post your specs!

Guess I couldn't catch that break I asked for. Cleary, requiem_for_a_starfury is EXTREMELY intelligent and the rest of us are mere intellectual mortals.

Not seeing "Sticky" at the top of the thread. Doing a search for "Sticky" only appears within the threads, with no link.

requiem_for_a_starfury, I imagine you have a very active and interesting life outside of being a moderator on a Fallout forum. Your wife (if possible) is probably not fat and your parents are quite proud of you. Enjoy the remainer of your mediocrity.

Sincerely,

Blimey however did you manage to register when you obviously lack the most basic of reading skills? Or is your 'care in the community' helper on holiday today?

I hope you have fun with your blurry game as I doubt you'll be able to understand even the most simple of technical advice. Not that you'll get any since you still haven't posted your pc specs!

This problem is easily solvable even with the latest drivers on nvidia cards. You just have to open the nvidia control panel, go to 3D settings and disable anistropic filtering.

Game Graphics problem

I am new to the fallout series and just purchased the Fallout collection, and I am experiencing graphics problems wherever I move my mouse when ingame. I then patched to the most recent patch and am still having the same problem. Below is a picture of the problem.

I have a Asus M2N4-Sli motherboard and NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT. I am illiterate in the ways of computers, so if any other information is required, please ask.

Thank you in advance.
