Da best recruit ..... suggestions anyone??

My team members are Stoma,Rage,Stitch,Farsight and Rebecca.Any suggestions about recruits who are better than them?(good stats and tag skills).And who do you think is the best recruit in FOT?

I like Ice. For some reason i like Ice. She has good skills. High outdoorsman and good sneak and small arms. She becomes a good second sniper besides Farsight and if you use the tag perk and give her energy weapons she becomes very accurate with those. Boomer is good because off her kick ass throwing skill. The downside on her is that she has no good other skills so you might consider taking Alice instead. She has small and big gunns as well as throwing tagged. Only downside is her sneaking skill wich is very low and becomes even in minuses when you give her metal armour and up. Did i mention i like Ice. Anyway this is my team. My main char. with small gunns, energy weapons and sneak tagged, Farsight, Ice (I like her you know), Rebecca, Hurt and Alice. Hey, i'm a man, i just like to look at women.

Before I hacked the characters and entity files... ;-]

My honest game, I lost Farsight and Target and Dillon, so my team with pre-patched characters was My Char (Fast Shot sniper/Biggun), Stitch, Brian, Stoma, Krldraav, Ice by stage 12.

I like Krldraav, he is my H2H/Grenadeer

Brian is good for Bigguns

Lately my warrior of choice is Jax, however -- Fast Shot + Kamikadze --- waaaay cool :)

Maty be the odd one here - my favourite recruit is the Deathclaw Krldraav - no fancy weapons, just plain, old-fashioned hand-to-hand mayhem. He gets automatic criticals with every hit (like the slayer perk) and due to the rabid perk, gets 5 AP with each kill. Makes short work of weaker opponents without wasting hard-to-find ammo. Bigger opponents may get knocked down repeatedly making them unable to respond.

My only gripe is that they tagged First Aid for him - when deathclaws can't any of the First Aid items???!! I used it as an excuse to fire up the trainer and switch the tagged skill to throwing. Now thats more like it.
 
kewl ...stitch is good , and i use farsight, rebecca to become my sniper , i use ice (i like her too , i dunno why ), my stitch is good with big guns , en the last is harold (ghoul) i use him becouse he got very good skill in traps .. so i dont worry much for trap , but the weird is my prime character , is not good as others .. i just hangin with critical shot from my prime character (pretty stupid , i think ) ..

I'm just after the Mutant base APC level.

Stitch is mandatory if you are not a medic yourself, perception sucks but is just there to heal and as burst guy if someone gets to close, I tried to play as medic myself but I like to take the point, and ended being in no condition to heal anyone and needing a doctor.

Ice, I like the picture OK :o), has one less PE point than Farsight, but what the hell...the LONER trait is not working fine so she gets the bonus even in the presence of team members.
Outdoors, Sneak and Pilot.

Mandy, PE 8, IN 9, Sniper, paramedic, sneak, perhaps the best NPC in my view. The Skilled perk sucks but nobody's perfect.
Since the TEAM trait is not working, I gave her the thoughness, and use her as the entry babe.

Stein, ST 7, PE 8, Sniper, Big guns, paramedic, I love this guy. Again since the TEAM trait is not working I gave him bracing.

I left one empty slot, just in case I can get an alright mutant,
Ghouls and Deathclaws don't do it for me.

I'm still in the beggining, my opinion may change.
 
In my opinion...Jax. He has more kills than the rest of my team combined for some reason. lol. He also _almost_ single-handedly got through the Quincy mission for me. He's just hardcore. lol. :7

I like Stoma and Sharon too, but I hate wasting perks to raise Stoma's action points...
 
I don't think there is anyone that really stands out, it's all teamwork intiate. As long as you get them early enough, that way you can train them yourself.

I'm up to mission 15 and kept Farsight from the beggining, it is amazing the shots she can pull off. I also have Boomer as my grenadier, she has throwing of 170 and has pulled me out of some tight spots with those plasma grenades, (she is also better looking than Ice). I didn't like Stitch so got rid of him after the first mission he couldn't hit a barn door if it was 10ft in front of him. I use Mandy as my medic she has good PE so is good as another sniper, and with her inteligence of 9 she seems to bandage less people than stich did. I have rage as my driver and another sniper. I also went with Kevin was going to use him as another grendier and than onto Slayer (didn't like him before the patch but he has some good stats now, I think one of them is gifted). My main char has big guns taged so I thought I needed another big gunner so went with Kev and as he is one of the early recruits it was easy to change him over he is now fiarly good with the ole Browning.

My squad now makes short work of those lowely robots, with 3 snipers using laser rifles (worked on energy weapons real early in the game), 2 big guns, when the .50 ammo is avialiable no robot lasts past the 3rd round. Boomer sneaking up close to hit them with grenades, if they come at her she wacks them with a power fist of blasts the hell out of em with her Jack Hammer.

I just like to get them early and plan what I want them to be in my squad, wouldn't change the squad I have now you get attached to them.

Dos has a 10 perception, Sharpshooter, and does more criticals per fight than the rest of my team combined. Combine that with Fast Shot and you have a killing machine. He also has a very good intelligence and four tag skills. I later gave him a fifth tag of Doctor. I used this in case I wanted more firepower than Stitich could provide but still needed healing. Plenty of characters had higher First Aid than Stitch.

Alternatively, Vector is a great sniper/scout. Insanely high sneak and small guns skills. 10 perception and sharpshooter. Doesnt cause all the criticals, but that sneak skill is amazing. She also has a decent stealing skill so I later tagged her with lockpick to make a scout/sniper/thief.

My heavy guns team was Alice and Brian. Alice being the better of the two. She has big guns, and throwing. Grenades and M2s. What a sweetheart. She also has a decent perception (very important in FOT) and a 10 strength. Brian isnt quite as good, but has a great endurance so I let him get up close and personal. He gets banged up but lives.

Because melee was absolutely useless in FOT I never used any deathclaws or mutants. Well, I used Bob once, but never fought with him cause of that poor perception. He mad a great bellhop, carried all the luggage and never asked for a tip.
 
Pipboy. What can I say? I hacked my character files to make him have all 15s and he is by FAR the best recruit. He looks cool too. The intimidation factor of having the MOST RECOGNIZED figure in the Wasteland (beating out The Chosen One 10 to 1 in America and 10 to 0 internationally) on your side wielding a vindicator minigun cannot be overstated. I have seen mutants literally drop their weapons and run at the very sight of Pip standing on top of the APC and giving them the finger while his vindicator's barrels rev up. You might say "but Pip is so small and he looks funny!" To that I say thee NAY. Pip is definately small in frame, but he MORE than makes up for it SPIRIT. What did he say the day we met him? "The first kill is the hardest" and "I want to go kill something," this guy is HARDCORE. I mean, most recruits end up hardcore, this dude was hardcore the day he joined. Did any of the rest of your tribal washout recruits walk around talking about killing people ALL the time BEFORE they joined? Nope. That's because they all lack the fighting spirit of Pipboy.
 
I really like Robin. Due to his high perception skill, he's great at spotting traps. Also, he makes a great sniper. I've beefed up his small arms, energy weapons, traps, and piloting skills. Definately not a bad character to have.

Stitch is great too. Thanks to the huge ammount of skill points he gets (I gave him one rank of the Educated Perk), I've been able to give him a wide variety of misc skills. Repair, science, etc, and still had more than enough points to keep increasing his first aid and doctor skills.

Alice is also a great character to have. Thanks to her high agility she has a lot of action points to spend each round. Give her a Browning M2, some good armor, and send her to the front lines. The kind of character that makes you think: "Wtf do I need sneak for anyway?" ;)

A lot of people here like Ice...she's a good character. But if you have Farsight, I really see no need for Ice. Farsight and Ice are nearly identical and for some odd reason Farsights range modifiers are lower than anyone elses (invisable sharpshooter perk?).
 
Alice is great just cause she has the fast shot trait plus a high agility. I gave her an extra action point with the action boy perk in kansas city and a laser pistol and now she can fire 5 times per round, bringing about destruction and mayhem.

Ditto with Malice, I gave him the fast shot trait with the mutate perk and hes awesome with heavy weapons

Also, I like Shriek just cause he has a hilarious bio.
 
Jax...

If you give him an additional intelligence at level 12, he can get Bonus Rate of Fire perk at level 15, in addition to the extra skill points. Bonus Rate of Fire on top of his Fast Shot and Kamikaze traits, plus whatever else you've given him along the way, definitely has potential.

Changed my mind...
BABS is the best, just mutated Tech Wizard (Is this right?) to gifted...9 in IN, PE, AG, 7 in CH, 6 in everything else...
 
Claire is the best I seen so far... Level 22... General... master of energyweapons..

She has about 10 perks along with 2 traits... divine favor...

What can I say - she's the best... .but you have to be general to get her....
 
Alice. She rocks. Fast Shoot, good AP and Big Guns. A nice M60 or other heavy machine gun for normal duty and a Browning M2 for those hard to reach places. Comes reasonabl early.

Jax. Good AP, all weapons types tagged and wicked perks. Shotgun and sniper rifle and he is set. Comes early.

Best NPCs

I think the thing in picking NPCs is not who you pick but who you throw away.

I tossed away Stitch - poor perception and took Mandy. Mandy has great scores and you can mutate her so that her perk rate is 3 instead of 4. Great perception- she makes a kick ass sniper. Tag energy weapons and I don't think I will dump her. You can raise the doctor up to 100 and she's got the medic too.

WHen I need to barter at the bunker, I pull out stitch- boosted his barter skills and he does the business.

Faright dumped for Ice- Farsight is nice, but Ice is almost the same and the loner perk gives her a bonus early when you need it. As she evolves why bother going back to Farsight. Ice makes a great sniper scout, tag energy weapons and she can do that too (save those skill points for the tag). I need to bring down her rate of fire.

Brian- fast shot and heavy weapons. bonus rate of fire and in power armor- does the job with the M2

Target- make a great heavy weapons person (don't remember if I tagged this or not)and has the grenadier.

Rage- lockpicker, sneak, sniper- Tagged energy weapons too.

all books go to main character- small arms, energy weapons, sneak- gifted and small frame (for the agility bonus). Books boost the science, traps, pilot, repair skills

stich is really i diamond.
farsight sux in compare with rebecca.
vector can be a good investment for stealth and sniping.
pump(super mutant) is DA investment.
pipboy- i simply love him!
a robot which its name i forget, good skills but you have to be good in repairing.

pipboy-my love (if only he could crouch...)
