Ok my comp is driving me fucking insane and I have no idea what is wrong with it.

My specs

Amd XP 2000+
1gb pc3200
ATI X800 pro
Gigabyte motherboard
300w psu
80gb SATA

For some reason When I play games I get a constant freezing this last about 5 to 10 secs and then goes again. it is really random freezing but it is killing me.
I am getting a new pc in two months but I really wanna get this fixed so I can play. do any of you have any idea what could be causing this problem.

-uninstall drivers
-clean out old drivers with driver cleaner pro http://www.drivercleaner.net/professional.php

fallow the readme!

-reinstall lastest driver

if problem still reoccurs maybe turn agp fastwrites off in the bios? worth a try (worked for my card, but its nvidia)

Also, you could be overheating or not enough juice going through the psu when the gfx card switches into 3d mode...

I did a full wipe of my HDD it worked fine for 2 days then the same problem started again.

Also the thing is I have had the same system for ages and this problem has never happened before.

Take a snapshot of your running proccesses and post it up. I doubt you have infested your pc with virus's, malware, etc. already since the format, but then again people still amaze me to this day...

I hope you loaded all your latest drivers for your pc components, bad ide/sata drivers may cause similar problems (raid is bad for it) and sometimes causes blue screens of death aswell.

yeah I know I need to invest in some. I will when I get my new comp together so I am not 2 worried about it now.

BTW I did a shit load of scans last night and a defrag I will have to wait and see if that has done the trick.

First, what game do you play?

Second, use PC zoneAlarm Free for firewall protection, AVG Free for antivirus, Spyware blaster, Spybot Search&destroy and Lavasoft Ad-aware for crucial protection.

Third, use Hijackthis! to run a scan for questionable backgroud process.

hmm that may be the problem as well as my power supply seems to be pushing out a shit load of hot air. this is not normal.

You should also get startup.cpl and tweakui.cpl system plugins , as they help system to run smoother and as you like
