Ahh.. just finnished mission 17 and on the way back i met the Horsemen of the Apocolypse... I didnt noe wat the encounter was for but didnt notice tt my main character had being changed so i exited and proceeded to the Bunker. Then i made my rountine save and tt was when i realise my mistake, My wimpy Knight medic was now switch with my main character who was at rank 11(Paladin Commander)! now i could not even recruit a knight and my equipment for sale are now crap! How am i supposed to continue? However i thought tt there was always a way to go round this so i went back to the encounter and run a check on their Hit points - 14800 !!!!! Wat the hELL!! I thought of slaughtering them for wat they did but their hp was like !?

Pls this is an official call for anyone to make a char editor so i can edit back my game to the original form. Now back to CS...

LOL!!

I had the same problem, but I DID try to kill the pricks - on the spot. Well, my reasons were for insuring that War, Famine, Disease, and Pestilence never roamed the earth again. I shot, and blasted, and beat upon them for quite some time, but never seemed to make a dent. I had no idea how many hit points they had - just assumed they were invincible - although I DID manage to cripple one, give one a concussion and knock him out for a while. :)

But, yeah. That nonsense about swapping my main character was a real pain in the ASS!! 'nother bug report, perhaps?

RE: LOL!!

I believe this is one of the bugs being addressed in the patch when they mentioned a "bug" that switched out your main character... They are addressing the recruits not gaining rank issue so even if it is supposed to happen you wouldn't loose all rank.

I don't know If there is enough ammo for small/big guns in the game to kill the bastards. Gave up after 10 or so retries some of the most intense violence I've seen in this game. I suppose if you looted all those MECs from the turrets in Peoria you should have a crapload of ammo for energy weapons. but ... I'll be back...

Red

o.k. This is getting weird. I've been through the game now 3 times. (once for real, twice with cheaty characters). And I have never seen the four horsman. I've searched high and low, covered the whole map. So what I'm asking is what were your stats when you found them and how many people were in your group? Also are these the actual four horseman or are they replicas of the four horseman from the BBC series "RED DWARF" - I'm asking because in red dwarf they were supposed to be a computer virus.(wich would make sense of the people in the party being switched around.? Just curious :)

Found a clue:) in the random encounters folder there are also 4 other characters :Apathy, Care, Give, and Lethargy. Maybe you have to meet these people to get things back to normal?

I think they're the real deal. They're described as 'Almost Dead' and they still have 14000 HP?

use your melee guy kill them bloodly to smooth your pain and then reload (I did)

RE: LOL!!

I ran into the horsemen a while ago and I managed to kill all of them by using the browning M2 and shotguns ect. However, it isn't worth it. You only get like 200 exp each and they aren't carrying anything.

I punched them in the eyes and one guy kicked them in the nutz. It took me about an hour to kill them. During the time I made a sandwich and picked up my pay check from work.(3 guys in power armor, 2 in enviromental armor, and 1 in leather armor mk 2.)

I heard that to avoid having your lead character swapped, you have to know when it is going to occur.
Basically when you come accross it just re-load. So you should know where that encounter is. So either go anempty wilderness map by clicking on your little triangle, or do a random encounter. Position the vehicle a distance from the exit grid, then click on the exit grid to leave, however as you start to move, select a different character other than ur lead man.
When you then encounter the Four Horsemen, the character you selected will have swapped places with another member of your party, NOT your lead character though. Then you can just re-order them via the character
screen. This is an important tip, as if you are doing S.E. runs you will come accross the Horsemen and it can seriously screw up your game.

Two pieces of info that may help :

Piece 1.

The horsemen apparently make the guy with the lowest charisma in your party the new lead character. So if you skipped charisma in your character build and made it 1 or some such, you shouldn't have a problem. If your character gets swapped, use drugs to lower your charisma and return.

Piece 2.

They're almost dead at something daft like 20k hitpoints apiece. Instead of killing them and getting rubbish exp, try healing them for a nice exp boost for your medic.

Hope this helps.
