Okay, here is my only beef with the whole idea, and actualy this just isnt a Fallout: Tactics thing, its been a problem in every Fallout game. You should be able to have couple people in the front kneeling or proning and have some people be behind them standing and not hit them with their guns, the fact that this doesn't work how its supposed to makes me mad since there is no button to arrange the squad so they walk in a specific manner (formations and such) so they also stay together in a tight-circle, and this almost always kills one my team-mates when a Deathclaw runs up to us and my own team does more damage then the deathclaw. :-( I wish there was a way of fixing this, and yes I do micromanage my troops, but sometimes I think I have killed everything in the area and I just walk through it, and suddenly a Super-Mutant is hiding behind some rocks and he unloads a burst onto my guys halfing their lifes and they back of the squad finishes of the front, :-(

I have had to restart a lot of missions

RE: Damn you friendly fire!....um no....

um no....I sort of expect to get killed if I have someone behind me burst firing submachine guns/machine guns/miniguns....yes I would love a formation feature though...
Heres what I do....since you snipers should always see the enemy first, only set them to aggressive, so that they are the only ones who initiate the battle....one bullet isn't going to kill you unless you have the guass rifle...
oh well my two cents

You miss-understand...

No, I mean line of sight type thing, if someone is standing they have their guns waist height, and if your kneeling, or even proning, that gun should not be able to hit you, unless its aimed at you, do you know what I mean? So my Machine gunners could be standing up (with the bracing skill) behind my snipers which are proning in front of them in a long tunnel...as it stands right now, the machine gunners would kill my snipers, I would like to make it so that there fire goes over the heads of the snipers, since they are so close, the burst shouldn't be big enough to actually spread onto the snipers, and should just aviod them,

Just a quick tip

I hope I'm not stating the obvious, but use the quick save feature. Alt+S to Save, Alt+L to load. This will make the design flaws you mention easier to deal with if no less frustrating.

If by some horrible chance you took the 'Tough Guy' option when making your character, you will not be able to save in the middle of a mission and will have to start the whole game over, unless you really are that tough.

[font size=1" color="#FF0000]LAST EDITED ON Mar-26-01 AT 05:54PM (GMT)[p]o.k. here's the deal, put the snipers immediately behind your bursters, I can't remember the last time one of my own snipers hit a party member, burst on the other hand seems to hit my party members if they are within a 45 degree angle of where I'm firing. 2nd have a scout with really really high sneak, one trick that works for me fairly well is to set the sneaker to 1% agro and a long range weapon when searching for enemies. This hasn't worked too well in cramped quarters for me though.
