Im currently waiting for this one to download, has anyone here played this yet and what do you think of the game.

I'd been looking forward to this one. I enjoyed the old games in the series and this looked to have some pretty cool features. Of course, my computer probably couldn't run it anyway, I'll have to ask if my brother will let me try it on his before I go back to school.

Adding more meat to my post: For 1400 mb, it's scary to hear its only 10 minutes long. Also, rumor has it, the main game is 7GB long. Yeow.

Some quotes found at gamespy:

Holy crap, your enemy actually jumps across gaps! Thats a huge new! Combat is awesome. In most games, NPCs have a certain amount of health, and they die when it goes down to zero. DM, requires much more technical skill. I kicked a box into an orc's face then kicked him off the ledge before he got up.

One of one fight with an orc, he's injured and so sways from side to side and takes longer to attack. He brings his sword down in a chop, I dodge to the side, he starts lifting his shield to block while turning towards me as I do a charged side wipe attack. He isn't fast enough and I freaking cut his shield arm off as he's turning towards me, it goes flying, shield going one way his arm another, as he does a spin then colapses to the ground dead at my feet, blood splurting from his shoulder!

Sounds interesting to me at the very least. Post when you've played it.

I recently played it through. I can see potential, however the demo is just too short to develop a decent verdict. In the vein of deus ex, there were many ways to do things, depending on what type of character you are going for. I played through as a standard warrior, and a sneaky assasin. The warrior, was unexpectedly satisfying, as the melee combat in the game has really kinetic feel to it. I was especcially impressed when my sword locked with that of an orc, a very nice touch.

The assasin, was much more fun to play, being able to take out enemies without them noticing, or indeed slipping by them entirely. I tryed out a few different kills, solely using the enviroment, and i have to say, that aspect of combat is done very nicely, to the point where can overlook the frueqently placed spike boards that seem to be everywhere. A few decent reviews, and I think I'll buy it.

Its very big and very short and very demanding.

At least the first time everything loaded it took ages ( for me that 1-3 min ) :) And then i have a pretty good comp. XT1900XT and x2 4400+ with 2 gig ram.

The game was pretty nice.

Very nice graphic
Kinda interesting fighting
You can use the enviorment more than in most other games

The level up system seems la bit small and to few choices
The bow sucked hard
The mana system could have been better, but it seems like you can choose "faster mana reg" so it might be okej later on.

Yeah, the bow was kind of shitty. I'm hoping thats simply becuase it is the starter bow, but I'm afaid from what i have seen so far, Oblivion has better bow combat, and thats saying something.

Hehe indeed

Finally got this game downloaded. my god! damm hard drive Crashed on me and I had to replace it.

I loved the combat in this game really made me feel like I was fighting with swords. but the demo was really short so as for RPG elements im not to sure. at the moment it is more like a FPS with swords and magic.

Sorry, I was kind of out of my head last night. I must have misread "moment" with movement.

Anyway, it seems this game is really demanding. I ran lost coast and the new CSS and DOD:S maps fine with HDR and everything on high, but this game hammered my rig, to the point where i had under 10fps in places unless i turned lighting down to bloom, and basic water reflections, which i can live with nicely. You just have to make the right adjusments and it runs fine. The loading times however are sligthly worrying, loading a fucking map took aslong as battlefield 2, and quick loading could take up to a minute, and this is on a gig of ram. We will have to see how the release version handles this.

Load times where not to bad for me about 1 min, for some reason source engine games run great on my rig. I really don't think anything can beat Battlefield 2 in the loading department. Takes about 5mins for me to get a map loaded

The loading times might be a bit better in the full game. I think hey will be. I have it maxed with 2x AA and after the first time i entered the game the loading time is like 30s-1min. So its okej but i don't think most people have as good comp as me so for you with a more "normal" machine it will probably take some time to load things.

BF2 was a nightmare on my last comp. Could take like 3-4 min sometimes. But now its goes pretty fast. To join a server takes maybe 1 min and the map load between maps take very short time. Im usually in like 20 sec before most other people ;) So when they join i have capped a flag almost :)

The training level is a bit too munchkin for me. I hate it when they tell you how to every single little action. I'd prefere it they left you to figure out somethings for yourself.
