There's a Fallout Tactics mod around, this one is called Darkfall. It's being done by the guys behind the Awaken mod, here's more info:<blockquote> Darkfall. A mod to Fallout Tactics. At the beginning I wanted the mod to be a large and standalone tactic mod with new background, story, etc. Unfortunatelly, sometimes it's this way that things go not the way the should, and so the mod only changes the old Fallout Tactics.
  • 26 missions, including 14 known from FT and 12 new ones (including finding crashed vertibird, defending BOS' bunker against mutants, battle of a bridge, rescuing scribes, mission with driving a tank, lots of fun ;) ).
  • One free town with many NPCs, including about 15 quests and smaller locations.
  • Tons of weapons -- each with separate sound effects, now they are more deadly (increased dmg).
  • Old, well-known sprites and tiles from Fallout cRPGs.
  • CHANGES to standard FT campaign:
  • Improved Super Mutants - now equipped with laser and plasma rifles, also nightkins using stealth boys, as seen in Fo1.
  • Missions with searching for Vault0 and fighting robots removed ('cause it was a terrible idea to put them into the game)
  • Beastlords changed into Slavers, deathclaws [and other animals] pets removed.

Any idea on when it will be ready?

I cant see those pictures either, all I get is a big bloddy message saying "Przykro nam, strona chwilowo nie działa z powodu przekroczenia godzinnego limitu transferu." and picture of a giant padlock, which means that other part probably translates to something like "naff off, you dont have access to this page"
 
It translates to "The news post on NMA had gotten this site an amount of attention sufficient to use up the daily bandwidth limit."

Funnily enough, the path to the screens says "Awaken"... DargH, WTF?
 
I wonder if they'll Hex edit the Mutant spr's to fix their sequences, assuming ther are using the standard Tactics ones. I'd guess they'd make Energy Rifles into Heavy so the mutants can wield them, but they'd need to fix the spr's bugs related to single shots. Also, they could fix the rocketlauncher sequence as well. The Devs were pretty sloppy, but they're all easily fixable with a Hex editor.
 
i was wondering if anyone has the exact spot to d/l this at, ive ebeen trying the site for an hour, and i cant get the d/l to go...

Urm what bugs with Mutants using single fire heavy weapons? I've never noticed any, the only character sprite that has a problem firing is the Reaver Male who can't fire the rocket launcher while standing.

But hey if you know of any problems and more importantly how to fix them, why don't you do so! I'm sure those making Darkfall and other modders would be grateful.

On another note I can't wait to see how they're going to implement Nightkins and stealthboys.

Interesting, do you have the hex offsets that need fixing? If so can you start a topic in the modding forum and I will take a look :)
 
Whoa, I looked at gallery. It looks sawesome !
And the changes list sounds nice too. :)
Hell, it's even in polish as I see from one of the screens :D

Hmm, I wonder if it will be like in original tactics, wandering from bunker to bunker leaving everything behind once one bunker is "done". What I enjoyed in F1 and F2 ( as well as in any rpg game actualy ) was thing that you couldn't simply score one location and moe on. Some dialogues, quests, place access would only get unlocked if you were in other places to know about extra stuff to do.
Also I wonder if there will be places to be found on my own ( not random encounters ) as a bonus for map exploration or will all locations will be given on a plate ?
And finaly, if there are no robots will slavers be excuse for mutants to join with brotherhood and being recrutable ?
