.dat files not viewable in f2se or falche2

I recently purchased and installed the Fallout Trilogy released by Interplay.

When I try to use f2se or falche2 to edit my saved game for Fallout 2, the file browsers for both programs do not recognize the .dat file of my saved game.

When I go in and look in the folder itself C:\Program Files\Interplay\Fallout 2\DATA\SAVEGAME\SLOT01 I can see the .dat file.

Are neither of the editors compatible with the version of the game I have or is there something I'm missing?
 
when you have the falche2.exe in your main directory, he should show you automatically and without browsing for files, a list with your savegames. Is there not so and the list is empty i think it is not compatible with your version.

which one is this? 1.2?
 
The list is empty.

It's 1.02.25. I've been trying to update to 1.2 but because this version is shipped by Interplay, the directories are different, and I've been having some trouble with that.
