Who wants to make a mod in which all the dialogue is rewritten? Let's discuss.
This would involve
1. Making dialogue more than Q&A period with "Insert flavourless NPC here".
2. On that note, give the NPC's flavour.
3. Making Charisma have an effect on which dialogue options one has. So, one may talk oneself out of situations only with higher charisma, and one may have few options but to insult and swear at the person you're talking to if you have low charisma. (This could be made extreme... I'm thinking of a low-charisma game, in the same way that they old games had a low-intelligence game)
4. And on that note, re-introduce the low-intelligence game.
5. Make it possible to talk your way through more quests and situations. And random encounters. Imagine if rangers taunted you before they killed you, and your diplomatic character talked them out of their villainous ways?
6. And, as a side note, make it possible to talk your way through quests in an evil way. So, you can talk everyone into being friends, or you can talk everyone into killing everyone else.
Fallout 3's dialogue box contains three options. It is a chilling reminder of what Bethesda has reduced dialogue to. Pete Hines said "Dialogue isn't a battle we wanted to pick". This disgusts me. Who's with me?
