How come I've never heard of Fallout Tactics before? Is it a mod or what? And will there be a Fallout 3?

No. I played Fallout 1 and 2 like a hundred times each thinking that was it then I heard something about Fallout 3 and visited the fan sites and found out about Fallout Tactics.
The Fallout series kicks ass.

Fallout : Tactics (aka Brotherhood of Steel :Tactics) is the next in the Fallout series. It is squad based combat Fallout-style -- turnbased and action points, like the originals. Except, it uses a better more realistic cambat system. You only use action points for attacking and manipulating the environment (opening and closing doors) and using inventory items in an active item slot and accessing the inventory. So movement is free and you can move while others try to shoot you (someone please verify this). Also, you can climb, crouch, run over others in humvees, etc. There's multiplayer too!

Check out the links section of this site for URLs to FO:BOS Tactics or the NMA Tactics sections for more info.

As for Fallout 3, don't hold your breath until Tactics is out. You might wanna check Black Isle's page for deatails.
