Different Races as PCs

edliu512

First time out of the vault
eg Ghouls, Super Mutants, Humans like in FOT

as a result, different abilities, stats bonus, radiation reaction, ability to use items, chem imunity, etc etc.

But i would like to see that u can develope characters with each race with the story:

eg. getting a super mutant to marry a human. . . or maybe u gotta hide in the sewers in certain cities because you are a mutant, or perhaps have the option to become the return of the "Master".

Another option is to be able to mutate your human during the story etc.

 Perhaps this fellow wants to play as a Super-mutant since that is what his grammar skill remind me of.

Seriously, though, you will not be taken seriously if you cannot articulate. Is it really so much of a reach to use the "Shift" key; I mean, You've got *two* of em, fer cry e' eye!

Anyways, though, the idea of different races is sound, provided that it's more than just a way to add two to one stat and subtract two from another, or what have you. Different races could certainly add quite a bit to the game, if properly implemented and balanced.

Already done, in Fallout 1.

Keep in mind that this would require an immense amount of work to be put into various possibilities. In Fallout 2, as a mutant you'd probably miss out on a few locations like Vault City and in numerous other places, you'd have to take racial differences and various NPC reactions into account.

You've got to ask yourself: What kind of story (and I mean a credible one) would this idea go with?

Well, as for not being able to get into certain places: Maybe it would be like in Vampire Bloodlines as a Nosferatu; sneaking in at night and intimidating people to tell you things, heh.
