Hello, thank you for helping me out. This is my first time posting at the boards.

Basically, I've been having the same problem installing demo time and time again, and I can't figure this one out. I'm not exactly a sofware or hardware genius, but I usually have the basic skills to fix a problem, and if I don't, a friend of mine always does.

Anyway, I've downloaded the demo several times, from different locations. Oddly enough, I even have problems completing downloads, some of them cutting off half way through.

With the downloads that are complete, I'll open them, and the self-extracting will commence. It will be near completion, and then I'll always get an error message telling me that there has been an error with a zip file, with the possible cause being a bad file transfer. An example of the actual error is "bad CRC f67bb305 (should be e2dcd83f)," and I have no idea what this refers to.

I have even downloaded the demo at a friend's house, played it successfully, and had him burn it to CD. I tried to install it on my own PC, and I had the same problem.

Any help will be much appreciated, as I can't wait to get into this demo.

Thank you very much for your time.

you should do the following - go to your friends, extract the files (right click and hold, move someehwere on desktop, release the mouse button and click "extract to folder c:\windows\desktop\fallouttactcis"

this should unpack the demo to fallouttactics folder on your desktop, now burn (copy to cd) these unpacked files, and you have the pure instalation. try this one at your home's computer

basically, winzip can create problems if he doesn't like your memory. I had my memery from no name manufacterers, and it created problems. I got meself a new brand, kingmax, and nevr had any slightest problems in windows

Thank you very much, that explains a lot, and should solve my problem.

In actuality, I installed some new memory a couple of weeks ago, and that's when my problems started. I even managed to bypass the one unknown trouble file when unzipping, but that didn't help me.

Anyway, I should have thought to get the files unzipped before I had them burned earlier, but I haven't been able to contact my friend for a few days.

Anyway, thank you very much, that helps a lot.

I've been to a lot of message boards in my day, and this one is really kept up great. Thanks for making my visit a good one. Hehe, in fact, I think I might stick around... I have a lot I want to say about Fallout 3... Anyway, thanks again.
