Disabling video card question

Hello all. I recently put Fallout back on my computer and am experiencing the tagged, "XP Blackout" problem quite frequently. My question is regarding the disabling of my video card (as suggested in the sticky). Will this cause any problems for my computer by doing this? And once I am done with the game is it just a matter of going back to device manager and enabling my card? Afraid I'm not very tech educated and just want to make sure before I proceed. Thanks.

No, this doesn't cause any problems. If it would have caused any problems we'd have said so in the sticky.

Wait. Don't you rather mean "Disabling the acceleration"?

Yep, disabling the graphics card is, well, silly, so do read the advice carefully please.

No, because it does actually work. It's the same effect as disabling graphics acceleration in DirectX, essentially, though, but both work equally well.
