Saw a trailer for this movie....

http://imdb.com/title/tt0486822/

And can't help but notice it seems EXTREMELY close to the storyline of the 1954 Alfred Hitchcock movie 'Rear Window'. I looked in the credits and A.H. is nowhere to be found. Is it me or should you have to find a place in the credits for the guy who came up with the idea?

Rear Window ruled. At least, I remember it ruling as I watched it something like twelve years ago.

Disturbia almost sounds like a re-make of it with a few upgrades, like the voyerist is a young hottie instead of middle-aged man.

When I first saw the trailer on t.v. I thought of Arlington Road.. I guess I didn't really notice that the kids were spying on the new neighbors.. I also laughed outloud at the title... Disturbia. I could just see a bunch of exec's sitting around a table trying to figure out words that rhymed with suburbia...

I don't think you are required to give credit to anyone when you make a movie with a similar story. But yeah that movie has a similar plot thats for sure.

Usually Shia LaBeouf is a pretty shitty actor but this looks like it might be pretty cool.

I know you don't have to buy the rights to a movie unless your going to do an actual remake - But if your story is so similar to a different movie there should at least be a spot in the credits for the person who came up with it.

Dude, where did the imagination go? It's not even a re-make, just stealing an idea.

Sheesh.
