Do the TeamX patches change the version on the title screen?

I'm just wondering whether the unoffical TeamX patches, 1.2 and the latest one, change the version number on the title screen? Unpatched I have Fallout version 1.2 but I assume it is not the Team X version, unless that was included in some retail versions of Fallout? I think mine must be the UK version because there are no children. Anyway, when I patch the game with the Teamx patches, up to the most recent, nothing changes on the title screen- the version number stays the same. So I'm not sure if the patch has worked.

1.2 patch does change the displayed version to 1.2. But if you already have v.1.2, you won't see any difference in displayed version number. 1.3.x patch doesn't change displayed version at all.

Thats becuase the patch number is hard cocded in the fallout2.exe, so its normally limtied to the offical patch number from interplay way back when. Of course the exe could be hex edited or patched with a virtual patcher to change the version number, but the easiet way now days is to just use sfall

so if you want to change the version number download and install sfall and in the config file type your new number there
