dogs, springfield bonus mission

how do you get dogs in your recruit pool? (where do you make friends with dogs?)....AND i installed the bonus mission CD after i installed the game, but halfway through my first game...can't seem to get the springfield mission? ???help??
 
Can’t recruit K9s is single player campaign.
For the bonus mission, cheek your BOS.cfg file there is this line:
{misc.bonusMission} = {true}
If it says false change it to the above and you would get the bonus mission.
 
ok, i'm a bonehead...how do i access the BOS.cfg file? When i click on the BOS face icon in the folder, it just takes me to the menu screen...
 
bos.cfg - ordinary text file, resides in the Fallout Tactics\core directory.

What’s the difference? Most likely, the bonus.exe won’t change the cfg anyway so you would have to do it manually;-)
 
I did, and the line was still false in my game.

BTW I think that this here "bonus" stuff is just stupid... The bonus mission is in there from the start, you just need to unlock it. The pen and paper stuff that it installs is just as stupid - the "game.pck" file in the core dir is all the .pdf and the readme.txt concatnated, and bonus.exe just cuts it up so that they can be used...

Result: Everybody downloads bonus.exe wich works sometimes and causes headaches for those where it dosn't. In addition there are 30 MB's of wasted harddisk space for everybody (sure not a lot, but stupid anyway).

Why couldn't they just not waste time locking the stuff in the first place? Is it really that much fun to run pointless and buggy unlock programs??
 
The prospect of running a buggy unlocker is strangely arousing...

Er, did I say that aloud?
