Hi Rosh and others, it's been a while }>

Yep, Tactics proved far more better than i thought it would. Now my biggest fear, damage system growing mold, will be just a memory. Let's just hope and get your fingers crossed that it will last to day when fallout 3 will be released. However, i will trust that makers of f3 now what they're doing this time.

There's still a problem with the game that concerns me. I would call it randomess, but i will probably get so much flaming about taking same line as diablo2, so i won't. More better description would be "Altering games so that player never exactly knows where the power armor lies (or other overpowered items/locations ect.)". Or in other words, changing each game somewhat different from that played previously. It was way too easy to obtain power armor in f1&f2 after your first game. Only thing needed in f2 was a little bit of that skill that decreased your chance to get encounters(can't remeber name of it anymore) and a lot of savegames.

So, what we need to do, is to chance the world a bit that overpowerful items etc never stay in the same spot.

And yes, i know that BoS: Tactics is a whole different game to fallout 2, but hell, i never liked that lonewolf superhero shit anyway, and a little more of battle tactics in fallout 3 wouldn't hurt. Really. I just hope that fallout 3 will at least follow the line of tactics. This will undoubtly get a lot resistance, but i am a sadomasocist anyway ;)

And as last lines, i'm not telling you to turn fallout 3 into tactics. Just to make battles a little bit intresting from fallout1&2 stand and shoot combats.

I hope so to but i am waiting for them to come up with something at least.

Hmmm, somewhat like Icewind dale. Maybe not a bad idea but how will this be implemented ? I mean, you do not have to many places in F2 for example where you could find the PA. Only San Fran, Military base and Navarro come up. But you might be talking about dungeons aren't you. Let's not get into that discussion.

Give us an example how you would see this happening. Then i might change my mind.

Sigh, read my post about how grim it looks for Fallout 3 and you will know how i feel about this. Anyway the whole point about Fallout is just the lonewolf thing. You VS the world.

Again to many changes will turn Fallout 3 into not so Fallout 3. Don't get me wrong here, i am not against changes, but just not to many so that the feel of the game will not go to peaces. I personally would not want to see the TB system go although others think otherwise.

Don't worry about that test thing, i just have to be sure that i ain't writing for nothing because some shithead altered setups for this public computer.

>Give us an example how you would see this happening. Then i might change my mind

There's a post i writed zillion years ago about this. Most mentionable comments i got was

1) Delays game publishuing & takes too long to complete
3) Might break up the storyline
4) Lots of bugs
5) Doesn't mean it isn't a good idea

So "randomness", as i defined it, won't probaly show it's ugly face in f3. They will probably just put in more random encounters. I just hope they're more random than in fallout2

Adios

Damn....

This board is getting slow. Could it be that everyone is too busy playing tactics?

RE: Damn....

The thing I'd like to see in FO3 is something to do once you finish the game. In FO2 the option is there but there is nothing to do except run around doing random encounters, selling the bucket loads (or trunkfulls) of weapons for stimpacks and money and getting experience points.

Of course, then I found the FO2 Hint Book that Father Tully (New Reno) gives you for finishing the game, read it and all my skills hit 300%. That kind of ruined it for me. Now I just dump the book in one of my active item slots and keep clicking on it, gain xp and get all the good perks. I also collect weapons and sell them for what money I can. (Hey, it's nice to have $150,000 and nothing to buy with it :) )

So in short, something you can do in the game once you've finished it.

Incidentally (while I'm here) In FO1 the Vault Dweller finsihed with Power Armour, Turbo Plasma Rifle and bucket loads of good stuff. Where does it all go? In FO2 all you get from the vault-Dweller is a damn blue suit.

Where oh where is the Vault-Dwellers secret stash???? (Of course I know there isn't one, but hey!)

You're not first one to wonder that. Once again, this "where did it all go?" topic has been on this board more than once, i think, and it doesn't really have anything to do with f3. And BTW, where's that old granny's magnum that shows in the intro?

I think that they turned barrels of the miniguns to tent pipes, yup, that's what happened :)

BTW 7th is coming out soon, man wizards is making money with this business. It's starting to be a joke when over three expansions come out in a year. I'm just starting to get "good" cards in MM and it's out from the type 2 pretty soon, damnit!

RE: Damn....

this is all semantics. if there are things to do after the game then technicly the game isnt over is it.
