Ok, Down in Mexico is a reprise of First Mission, because I like the idea, my character and where the story could go.

Rules-
(1) post your character on the character thread. I don't want to see characters written as bad asses (past tense), I want people who write bad ass characters (present tense).

(2) all writing will be in the third person to avoid confusion.

(3) weapons, technology- strictly fallout 1 or fallout2. None of this Tactics crap. We live in an alternative universe- get used to it. If you don't like that, started your own damn rp.

(4) Setting- right now the Hub. We are at the end of the battle for the Hub and our mission is to chase the mutant scum into Mexico and wipe them out and make sure they don't come back./

(5) Characters- Can be-
BOS- we have about 12 knights, a few scribes/medics
Mercenaries- These can be locals from the Hub, caravan guards, local members of the HUb police, etc.
Normal folks- Actually I like normal folks.

Key- characters should be interesting as individuals. Real people that fit the time line. Try to avoid cliche's like "tough wanderer who was orphaned when raiders killed his family." However, the "orphan raised by deathclaws" has not been done yet.

No one is allowed to play "a GI who was put into a freezer before the bombs and has been defrosted...etc." No. If you want to play marine, a ranger, a green beret, or anyone else in the armed forces, than join the armed forces. This site is people who want to roleplay seriously in a post-apocalytpic setting. This is not the place for adoescent violent fantasies about being a hardened vet from the armed forces transported in a post-apoc world " because that would be kewl. " DOing so pisses off serious roleplayers and is an insult to those in the armed forces. It has also been done too many times and rarely done well.

I'll make more rules as we go. I will also give managers a heads up.

Right now managers are Myself and Gonzalez. Albatross, Suaside and Pyro, if you are interested, let me know.

Although I don't really have the time nor the mind right now for role-play, know that I will be following your posts as I'm interested in PA Mexico at the moment :)

Seems like everyone is a guard or mercenary except Gonzales. Any BOS?

Ok, so Jack is organizing a search and destroy to clean out the remaining mutants. The mutants have sent down a squad under Gogog to put some hurt into the humans. The battle ground is the ruined Hub. Note there there are also humans and mutants moving about the ruins individually.

This is a chance to get a little action in. It won't last long. Either we will kill all the mutants or they will retreat.

Remember, these are mutants. they are big, mean and tough. If you shoot one in the eye, it will probably laugh at you. If you cut off an arm, they will probably smack you with the other. They should not be killed easily.

Also, one should suspect some of the Master's monsters are floating around the Hub as well.

You guys are generally poorly armed. So these will not be easy fights.

Also Max and Talon squad are in reserve.

The main players will probably form a recon group that will chase the mutants.

I'll play a BOS character, sure. Kell will be posted tomorrow, I missed the character thread part, but Im in the storyline. I already have a bio thought up, so it will be ready by then.

I am sure we'll find you a place. Post a character in the character thread and we'll see from there.

Yes, post away.

Kell is also forming a hunting party.

Ok, for this part I would like Gogog to survive.

Remember, this is a tough war. They will be killing our guys and we will be kill theirs. So if a few humans die, well that's life.

Because this is more like cooperative writing than actual roleplaying, we will occassionally use each other's characters.

Rule of thumb when using other people's characters- try to play them realistically and be gentle with them. Killing someone else's character is usually unpleasant for the player-owner.

To avoid problems feel free to pm each other to let each other know what's going on.

Pace matters. Stories require a certain tempo of excitement which means that we have to keep posting to move the story forward. So try to post regularly.

When you post, try to do something meaningfully and try to develop your character so that they relate to others. A good roleplay is about cooperation. Writing simply about your character gets a bit boring. So use each others characters to develop what's going on.

Furthermore, on the matter of pace-

This is a roleplay for new players primarily, if only so that new players can get a feel of roleplay and decide if they want to commit. I expect a few of you will drop out for a variety of reasons. Some of you might stick with it and this will become serious.

That said, we will follow the "No post for a week and you're possibly dead" rule.

So if you get writer's block, best to post something so we know you are still in it. If you don't post, the managers and other writers will assume you have decided to quit and your character can be liquidated. This way we can rotate non-active players and keep new players interested. Besides this is a war story, and what is a war story if major characters don't get killed off.

So post or die.

Welsh, you want me to wait till enough people sign up for my team, or just go ahead after a few days? They all seem to be graivating to Jack's squad.

No, go and post. You can use NPCs as additional characters. ANd don't feel limited to writing just from your character's perspective. You can also take on an NPC or even a mutant for this part, as long as the story continues.

Guys, I think we are doing a bit too much kick ass on the mutants and not letting the mutants do enough kick ass on us. Remember these are very tough hombres.

Also note that ranged weapons are going to be useless soon because of the dust. This should be mostly close in fighting or with weapons that would not so easily clog up.

That said, posts are looking pretty good. I am also glad you guys are working together.

Don't forget the Master's monsters are out there too.

Hey how do you insert images?

I drew a pretty funny pic of Eduardo I would like to share, and I have wanted a pic in my sig, like Carib or Welsh, for quite some time.
