Drug addicition

slit

First time out of the vault
OK, somebody's gotta explain this to me... how exactly does drug addiction work?
I had this character, 3 strenght only, so I though it would be a good idea to give him a little Jet boost so I can finally start using that .44 magnum properly and those extra action points were pretty sweet along with the Fast Shot perk. So I had to use two doses each fight to get a strenght of 5 to handle the gun. All seemd fine, got addicted, strenght went to 2, but with the first dose it went back from 2 straight to 4 (atleast I thought so) and to 5 with the second, the way I thought it should be. But at some point it went all the way down to 1 and would not raise to more than 4 (that's two doses, you can't use more that two at a time anyway, right?) and I can't seem to fallow the pattern. How exactly are stats affected when addicted?
So if somebody could enlighten me it would be much appreciated.

I've looked in a lot of walkthroughs (Per Jorners's included) and I could not find any info on how addictions affect your stats. I know you can cure Jet and the other addictions go away with time, but that's not what I wanna know  .
I found that: "Overall most after effects, and addictions do the opposite of the drug's effect. +2 str, then -4 str is one example. All after effects and addictions wear off in time, leaving no increases or decreases". So one dose of jet gives +1ST and PE, then takes away 2 (the bonus 1 it gave you, so you go back to your normal stats, and another 1 penalty). So when I take two doses my strenght is 5, then when they wear of it does down to 2. But when I take another dose, shouldn't it go up to 4 again? One does to "cure" you drug hunger or whatever to get your normal stat +1 regular Jet bonus?

Each dose has a separate duration. You normally can't take more than two doses of something at the same time, but you can get around this by saving and loading. All effects, aftereffects and withdrawal effects that are in effect should be cumulative.

Also, you should never use the Jet Antidote except when you're addicted to Jet, unless you like to cheat.

Thanks mate, but that still doesn't make it clear for me.
I'm left whit the impressions that stat's are affected totally random by the addiction to Jet. For example the first time I used it I had 3ST, using two doses I get 5ST, I get addicted, and when both doses wear off I'm left with 2ST, which is contradictiong with:
Overall most after effects, and addictions do the opposite of the drug's effect. +2 str, then -4 str is one example. All after effects and addictions wear off in time, leaving no increases or decreases
Which I don't even know is true, somebody posted this on gamefaqs' forums, becouse if the above was true I had to be left with 1ST after both doses wear off. After that, the second time I use double dose of Jet form 2ST I get 4ST with the first does and 5ST with the second. Then, when the doses wear off I'm left with 2ST again, but the third time I use doule dose form 2ST I get only 3ST first dose, 4ST second, and when the effect wears off I get a 4 decrease in ST, Which leaves me with 1ST. Then again I use double dose Jet for a maximum of 3ST, which is again decreased by 4 when Jet wears off. So the way I see it your stats get lowered every time you use Jet and there's no way around that.
It's just not making any fucking sence! :x
