Dual Channel DDR question

KillaKilla

Still Mildly Glowing
Oddly enough, I have drawn a complete blank on this. I really should know this...

Will Dual Channel DDR actually read-write to the memory chips twice as fast? Or will it just make the maximum bandwidth between the northbridge-memory twice as large (I.E.: It can call up twice as much data, but the RAM can't actually read twice as much)?

I can't answer your question but I have a question that has to do with ddr ram, is it faster w/ 2x 256mb modules than one 512 mb module?

DDR must be in pairs. 1x512 will not work.
