I just tried new jagged union demo version and oh man.. it's looking really great :)

Emphasis on tactical combat + some rpg elements (dialogue trees, quests, developing char stats) + multiplayer.

I definitely recommend you to give it a try if you like Jagged Alliance style of games. It remined me Jagged Alliance 2 -it has same kind of 'feeling' even though this is done in 3d and realtime with pause instead of turn based. (pause mode is very similar to the one in Combat mission).

The full game was published today (29.7.) in Russia - release date for english version is still unclear.

Brigade E5: New Jagged Union is a tactical game that places gamers in the small tropical nation of Palinero on the verge of civil war. The mission: hire a band of mercenaries and take control of the deteriorating situation before the country finds itself in complete ruin.

The story offers players the opportunity to experience three different viewpoints of the conflict or work outside the political structure to achieve their own goals in the global domination. Game play for the title is based on an innovative combat system called SPM (Smart Pause Mode) that successfully blends together real-time and turn-based games.

Unlike standard turn-based systems, Brigade E5: New Jagged Union does not use "action points" while in turn-based mode, but takes into consideration the character's skill and attributes resulting in the behavior of soldiers becoming more natural and diverse. Furthermore players can issue a chain of commands that troops will carry out automatically.

The games looks reasonably good. The graphics are similar to Silent Storm. Keep us updated on the US release date (if its intended to be released in the US).
 
It has been published... Hm...
About the game: this smart pause is not so promising as traditional TB. And engine in the fields of phisics and effects is quite worse then SS-engine. Of course, we love such games not for engines but this game seems to be not so good as Silent Storm is, to my mind.
