Easier way to get ammo???

Ive been cruising though the desert killing reavers and the such to get weapons to sell to the BOS for better weapons, but I find myself running out of 7.62 ammo for the vindicator minigun. Ive already drugged the guys in the uprising encounter and got their 2000 rounds of ammo but now im running low. Please help.
 
Try the SuperMutant infested areas near St Louis, Kansas City etc. Some of them carry SAW with 100 rnds each. Target them first using sniper rifles to save ammo. Not a lot of ammo though - which is a pain in this game. I have started hoarding the precious shotgun ammo which is just about dried up at the bunkers.

wow. 7.62 is the one ammo you get the most of. basically the ammo you find in the game is all you can really get. The qm hardly ever comes up with lots more ammo. I guess the only real solution is to use lots of different guns. I like the jackhammer myself but there is never enough ammo for it. I'd say the best thing is just expirament with other weapons and give everybody on your team a diffent sort of weapon that uses different ammo. I think they made the game this way so you couldn't just run around with everybody on your team equiped with mini guns. If you wanted to cheat you could download the trainer wich gives you the option of unlimited ammo. :)
 
I usually use weaker guns on weaker targets, but you have right, because the vindicator is the coolest weapon in the whole game. But try to use gauss-weapons and shoot you'r targets with aimed shots in their eyes, it usually causes more damage.

Wow.. you must be cruising the world at early stage of the game.. when I finished the game I had 45k, yup, that's 45 with 000 at the end, 45000 rounds of 7.62 in my car, how can I ever use them up ? they never do more than 2 damage to a robot anyway.. useless
