First time out of the vault
Hello!

I'm new here and I'm sorry to ask a question probably asked alot of times before, but I'm in desperate need of help!

When I want to enter Vault City, and I'm trying to open the door, it says that I cannot go there, so I tried the editor and found the map, edited it by removing the door and then saving, but now to the question:

How do I replace my modified version of the map with the official map?

I'm REALLY grateful for answers!

If it was one of the ones in the vault that you wernt strong enough to open, then you need to take buffout or something as they require a certain St to open.
 
I never thought of reinstalling!

It's the door that is large and brown, the one that you need a daypass to enter.

Um, just get the daypass.

It's in trhe building to the NE of the gate.

Just enter the building, ignore the first guy, and talk to the guy in the back room.

Remove your armor first, and he'll freak when seeign a vault suit and give you the daypass.
 
No that's not what I mean, what I mean is that you CAN'T open the door or even go past it, even if its opened! It looks to me as if there's an invisible wall there!
 
It's before you enter the city, not in the courtyard, but by the two guards that guard the entrance (not to the vault). I think you understand now.
 
That's a bug then, a big one from the sound of it.

That has never happend to me and Ive never heard of it.

KoC, he's refering to the entryway to VaultCity with the guards not theexi grid.
 
First time for me too! It's VERY. to say the least. frustrating! And I've played this game for like .. 20 times! But I'll try reinstalling.

One more question.. Bethesda lies in Turkey?
 
Oh no! It didn't work! The damn thing is still blocking! NO!!!

Is there no way that you can edited the city map? PLEASE I really want this characther to work! Because I've come very far! Please!

Can I in any way use my modified map and replace it with the original?
 
yes, but only if you haven't yet saved in vaultcity...just put your modified map in the "maps" directory.

if you saved you can modify this map, just go in your savegame directory, change vctydwtn.sav into vctydwtn.gz, extract it and rename it vctydwtn.map, now you can edit it with the mapper, but with any waranty of succes (so backup first)
 
actually if he saved at all after going to vault city it will use the one from the save data and not the new one.. he doesn't have to BE in vault city when he saved..
so you have to use a save from before you went to vault city for the first time..

hope you followed the golder rules...

save often, use at least 5 different save slots, and never use the same slot twice in a row..
 
oh yes sorry, coljack is right, that's not save in vc, but having been in vc before saving.
