Editing Fallout 3 Meshes

How exactly would you import a Fallout 3 mesh into 3ds Max '09? Is it the same as with Oblivion's meshes? I tried doing a normal import on a mesh but it just gives me an error that says "Unknown object type encountered during file read: BSFade Node". A bit of help here would be nice.

there are 2 ways

1. Export to .obj Then import to max.

2. Using niftools plugin, import straight to max. (if it works)

I use Maya, and That's how I get it to kinda sorta work. It's also important to make a selection first in NifSkope. Then export the OBJ.

Nah the importor to max doesn't work use method one it works good. Just make sure when you import the OBJ to Max just have only the texture and normal boxes ticked otherwise I found the model is corrupted slightly.

Thanks a TON for all your help, guys. I finally got a model imported, and now I can start working on new content for FO3. Can't wait until the G.E.C.K. comes out.

Take a look at all their meshes. They included content that they did not finish, so you might find something that you can tweak and finish for even faster results.
