Effects of a nuclear war...

Meh. I thought Toon was dead.

Nuclear war is very bad, it kill off the fungal plat extracts! Now we wouldn't want that would we?

But really, all it concluded was taht long term impact would include crop damage...

Anybody understood anything that was written in the article?

...oh and according to the graphs and maps, the best way to fight global warming is termonuclear war. Cool... Who wants to be the first to press the red "Stop Global Warming" button? :D

Isn't all this info kinda old? isn't it already well known that a few nukes would through off the earth's ecosystem and thus contribute to crop damage and other side affects? I think I remember learning this in highschool.. Or somewhere. Is this news? Or what?

Kind of obvious given the abstract.

It seems to me what they are saying is that nuclear winter thesis was in need of refinement but was generally valid. However, the thesis needed to be refined to account for the possibility of more regional wars between medium powers- (if Pakistan and India went to war). The policy claim argues that if the Nuclear Winter Thesis helped reduce nuclear arsenals and tentions between super powers (a dubious claim), than a modified thesis to account for nuclear war might have similar effect (again dubious).

So more Nuclear Winter thesis.
