Energy weapons - damage type

Has anyone found the way to make energy weapons do their really intended damage, without making new ammo types and assigning them to the weapon via Bosche?

I mean that now laser/ plasma/ pulse weapons do "energy" damage, because this type of dmg i set to Micro Fusion Cells and Small Energy Cells. So there is no significant difference among those weapons.
 
Well there is a field for special damage, but yeah probably the only real way is to have different size 'batteries' for each weapon (including the power fist and cattle prod).
 
I was afraid so. This gonna require new graphics, descriptions and complicate ammo scavenging but this might be a great advantage.

So it would have to look like this:
- power fist, ripper, cattle prod, spasm gun => normal batteries (like those for the mp3 player :wink: )
- laser pistol/rifle, gatling => laser batteries
- plasma pistol/rifle => plasma (changed from gas) batteries
- pulse pistol/rifle, => electric batteries

If pistol and rifle ammo will use the same battery type, this is not going to be so bad, and even if you get some better weapon earlier, saved tons of ammo from ripper or cattle prod won't give big advantage and shouldn't spoil the progress.
