am i the only one, who thinks it´s weird, that soldiers have to buy their one weapons/armor?

why can´t i get a cool gun or a power armor for finishing a mission?

That is an intereting question. An ever better question is why doesn't the brotherhood of steel make more ammo then they do. I mean, if you were going to fight an army of Super Mutants/robots/whatever that can soak up four or five bursts from an automatic weapon like it was gentle rain wouldn't you overproduce ammo to just put up a solid wall of lead in the faces of the buggers? Especially if you have the facilities/ability to produce power armor. I mean, seriously, how damn hard can it be to make 12 guage slugs? Harder then calibrating the strength modifying servo motors and the nueral implants that would be required for powered armor? Apparntly so.

CHA doesn't affect what you get at the QM. Besides 30 rounds of ammo isn't alot to a few armored super mutants...

I agree for the sake of playebility(sp?). On the flip side tho, in the real-world(TM) soldiers are generaly issiued around 100 rounds of ammo. At least that is what a Norwegian soldiers get as part of his basic combat kit, but I've read somewhere that soldiers equipped with 5.56mm rounds get 150-200 (Norway uses the 7.62mm G-3 Rifle).

Those 100-200 rounds are supposed to last a while. Back on the other side again tho, these soldiers are not used for the sort of 'spec-ops' BOS is all about...

Damn I need more .50 Cal...

Alex

What I want to know is why is getting a nuke for the BOS not worth much. I mean, if I was trying to unite America 100 years after a holocaust, and had to fight huge armies to do so, I'd sure as hell reward the grunt who captured a nuke for us.

That is a realism thing. For FOT: BOS is a game balance thing...

But having said that, what really gets my goat is that me, as a member of the BOS in good standing, can't get freaking healing done on me (for cash or otherwise). NOOOOO.... I have to buy my own medical items and treat myself with my group's medic. I don't know which army in the world refuses to treat its own soldiers (and for free to boot).

I agree. I mean how hard would it be to put in an option at the medic to just heal your people for a price.

Ammo for sale? ...............

It seems a little absurd for the BOS to not produce at least a handfull of ammo of different types after each mission. I have gone past half way through the game and only run across a couple of rockets and various types of ammo.
