Exanimus is a post-apocalyptic MMOG by Thinking Man Studios that has been under development for some time. It’s still on its Alpha stage, but it looks promising in some aspects. From the official site:<blockquote>Exanimus is an online massively multi player online game created in a world where the dead live and roam the earth attacking the surviving living. While most of the world is dead, there are small pockets of survivors that exist in barricaded cities scattered across the planet. Players of Exanimus will have the option of playing as a living survivor or as one of the dead roaming the earth. Exanimus will allow players to experience a new type of MMO based on the horror genera. Exanimus will feature challenging game play and visually "intense" environments.</blockquote>And here’s two small highlights from the FAQ:<blockquote>Why a Horror Genre?
With all the different MMO's on the market, 90% of them fit into either a Fantasy or Sci-Fi genre. When will the Beta be available, and can I be a Beta Tester?

As I've said before, I'm watching this one intently. I can't wait to see some more of what they have done, and I want to try to get the beta, PC-power willing...
 
I think it's promising, but I'm yet to see how the team feels about gameplay innovation in addition to setting innovation...
 
As a zombie fan im watching most of zombie games coming out there and this one looks(and sounds) pretty good.
 
This looks really good alright. Great concept art too, kind of like a computer game version of "All Flesh Must Be Eaten". I only hope playable character classes include 'Death Metal Musician', 'Biker' and 'Cheerleader'.

I'll wait and see more to make a decision. If they keep copy-pasting photo backgrounds for their concept art, they'll make asses out of themselves, tho'.

It doesn't really bother me. They can earn all the money they want. That way they will be able, not only to create NEW money-machines but also some more pushing and hardcore games... I think... Look at blizzard and StarCraft 2. They are doing it and that's a good thing. And they are doing it because they have money. Now think about it as if they hadn't the money. It wouldn't be as good would it? Maybe they even buy Fallout rights... Maybe they even kill bethesda with their money! :mrgreen: Long live WoW and blizzard... as long as they don't make that kind of games exclusively oc...
