Exoplanet has been in development for a long time. It has been through Steam Greenlight, it had a successful run on kickstarter back in 2015 (I was not a backer) and hit steam early access 2016. And the development has been ongoing ever since.

I was amazed to find that we don't have a thread about this yet (at least I couldn't find it). The game just had a mayor update so I thought it was time to spread the word.
