Why is it so hard to gain experience in FT? I get like 10 XP per raider I kill. I got at least 50 per RAT in Fallout 2! Does this mean combat is no longer a good way to gain experience?

Honestly:

The Hokey-Pokey might be more productive.

That is, assuming of course, the game doesn't crash like a drunken bitch.

"Robert, your time has come!"

"OOOH! Thank you, Master!"

"Don't mention it."

Try Arcanum, by those who brought you the first Fallout:

Keep in mind in Fallout 2 you got 10 points for a rat.

Now when you get 10 points it's for a squad. No matter who gets the kill all the exp is split 4or 5 or 6 ways...
So 50 xp with 5 people is...tad daaaa 10 exp each.

As well it is a totaly different type of fallout game than the lone hero ones.

There seem to be nice quest-rewards when you complete an objective too, which helps alot. (And is a good idea, since the idea of actually taking a stealthy approach to a mission and not killing everything in site is palatable when you get objective rewards.)
