[F1] Can't complete the game stuck just before military base

So I checked the military base as the scribe of the brotherhood asked me then went to maxon and he asked me what do I suggest I saw there was an option to infiltrate the base with a small team but I told him to wait until I gather some more information. What I had in mind was to loot the glow and gather information because the first time I was there I only retrieved the holo tape so I scavenged the glow and when I tried to talk to maxon to attack the base all he says is what do you want and I have an option of 2 ask a question and nothing, goodbye. I tried talking to the scribe again and then talking to maxon, alas, in vain. Tried also going to the base and returning and then talk again, but it doesnt work. Any ideas?

I'm not sure what the problem is, but getting Maxson's approval/help for attacking the base doesn't really change much.

So I told maxon to wait until I gather some more information, I did so, I remember I had a choice to say that I just need a small squad to infiltrate the base.

I intentionally did not read anything about fallout 1 because i wanted to discover everything by myself. Am I supposed to infiltrate the base with the brotherhood or by myself. If it's supposed to be by myself everything is ok.

Yup. The assault squad only helps in a limited way. You can do the infiltration on your own just as well.

Has this problem occurred to any of you, have you got any solution? If not I will just carry on by myself. I really wanted to infiltrate the base with the brotherhood.

Do you have the quest logged in your pipboy? I think you have to talk to one of the elders to get the quest, go to the base (you don't need to do anything there, just enter the area and leave), return to Maxon and tell him the Brotherhood needs to attack first, and then you'll have a choice to go in with the Brotherhood pallies during the meeting of the elders.

I did that, I wrote exactly what I did at the beginning. I tried going to the base a second time and then returning to the elder and then going to maxon, having the quest before I went to the base for a second time.

Well, no, you said you talked to a scribe, which i assumed was Vree. The elder i refered to is in the same room as Maxon.

Hnh. Either you did something wrong or it's a bug. But no matter, as Per said, you don't need to take these Paladins with you, hell, they don't even come inside the base itself.

IIRC, all you'll miss out on is the 1k-something experience points you'd get for making the Brotherhood send the Paladins with you.

I did not use the collocation "a scribe" anywhere in my posts I actually said "The Elder", The means that I am talking about a special elder and since there is only 4 elders and only one one of which I can talk to, I believe it was pretty obvious who I was talking to.

So I tried to attack the base on my own, had no problems at all, if we don't count the constants death of dogmeat, so I had no problem with the fights, but I reached a point at the base where I cannot continue. I can't lower the yellow force field. It said I hacked the computer and lowered only half of the force fields and when I checked it turned out that nothing has been lowered. On the 3rd floor in the base it says I have to disable the yellow force field another way.

I am with the high res patch which I downloaded from here, could that be the problem?

The high res patch does not affect anything.
You could try to use repair to the force field emitter or blow it up with explosives. If I remember correctly there is also a way to use some computer to lower them.

You don't need the brotherhoods help to attack the base. You also get the quest from V13 overseer to destroy the source of the mutants.

If you really really want the Brotherhood to help tell maxon (?) to attack and take the "small team" option. The next time you go to the military base 3 knights will be there to help out. You don't have to go there right away.
