I have windows XP.
My master.dat file (after I copy it to my computer from the CD) is only 145 MB while I'm told by the guide on this site that it should be 318 MB - I think my cd is scratched, as the game doesn't work. Is there anywhere without having the spend the 12 dollars plus 5 s/h from amazon to buy a new cd like many on this site loves to suggest that I can get a new master.dat file for this game (fallout 1). Thanks

In all seriousness, we don't support distribution of game data, so I'm afraid the best bet is that you need to find it on sale somewhere either offline or on.

Don't be offended Da187man. This is policy on the board, and for pretty good reasons.

If you are looking for a replacement disk- you might be able to get it from a friend. Alternatively Interplay sells a bundled set of "greatest hits."

I would try e-bay. Here is the Fallout1&2 bundle with an open bid of $1. It's a steal.
