F2: Using pc saves on mac?

I was playing v1.02 of F2 on windows, and want to use the same savegames on 1.02 on the mac. I copied the files over and the game seems to recognize them (they show up complete with screenshot in the "load game" screen) but the game crashes when I try to load them.

I did a quick search and saw

but it doesn't seem to be the same problem. Should I try to convert the savegames back to v1.0 anyway? Thanks!

There are a few differences between the formats that make them incompatible. In theory you could hack it to work on the other platform with a hex editor, but that's much more trouble than it's worth.
